The tale of Mayumi

"Birthday"

     It's been almost a month already since we moved here. We met Sakura, Tsunades student and she introduced us to her friends, which included Kiba, Hinata and Shino. I was dying to meet This Naruto kid, since he was the one everyone talked about and i was not disappointed at all when i finally did. He was really funny and we actually were getting pretty good friends, but then Tsunade sent him away, claiming it was for his training, but i knew something was going on. I bugged her, Shizune and Kakashi every chance i got and getting information little by little. Plus I didn't had anything to do, i mean i was training every day and even got some audience, people were wondering about my powers and soon the whole village knew about the weird girl.
     Hikaru was training like a maniac, like I've never seen before, cuz he was aiming to become shinobi. If we didn't live together I doubt I would be even able to see him. I was missing my best friend, but i had people around me now and Kakashi lived right next to me so i was annoying him instead of Hikaru, but sometimes when we were alone it got weird and i had no idea why.
     It was mid September, a totally normal day, i woke up at 10, took a shower, ate breakfast which Hikaru left for me before he left for his training. I knocked at Kakashis door before going out, as usual, but he wasn't at home, so i went to see Tsunade, she was busy as well, actually she seemed pretty worried, but she didn't wanted to talk to me, so i just decided to walk around the village, in hopes of meeting someone.
     But noo.. the universe decided to show me a big middle finger today and wasn't allowing me to see anyone i know. So i went to train, alone, like a loser that i was. I trained for a couple of hours and played with some kids who were watching me, they had a lot of questions and some pretty interesting ideas about how we could use my power to play, kids huh. I returned to village and finally spotted someone familiar.
- "Maskey!" I screamed from the distance and noticed that Kakashi drop his head before turning around.
- "Will you please stop with that." He says chuckling.
- "Never. Oh hey Guy. What's up?"
- "Mayumi, so nice you are here! Will you help me convince Kakashi that we have to celebrate his youth!" He almost screams.
- "How is getting older, the celebration of youth, Guy?" Kakashi says with his usual calm voice.
- "What's happening?" I raise my eyebrow.
- "It is Kakashis birthday today, he turned 24, but he doesn't desire to celebrate!" He screams again.
- "What the hell? Why didn't you tell me? I saw you every day." I smack his shoulder.
- "I don't know, It didn't came up." He shrugs and i bitchface him.
- "Guy sensei! I was told that Lady Tsunade wishes to see our team." Lee screams from the distance waiving his hand.
- "You got off easy this year Kakashi!" He screams as he runs towards Lee.
- "So what did you do today?" Kakashi turns to me.
- "What the fuck? It's your birthday! Who cares about my boring day!" I smack him again.
- "You hit people on their birthdays?"
- "Only when I'm not informed."
- "Sorry." He chuckles.
- "Okay, so September 15th, I'll remember for next year." I narrow my eyes at him. "Come on, I'll treat you dinner since I don't have a present for you." I start to walk and drag him with me.
- "It's not necessary."
- "Shut up! I'm not giving you a choice." I shrug and he laughs.
     We ate at ichiraku and decided to walk around.
- "How on earth are you doing that?" I ask confused.
- "Doing what?"
- "Eating?" I exclaim.
- "Like everyone else, by putting food into my mouth."
- "Don't play dumb, you know what I'm talking about." I narrow my eyes.
- "Someone really wants to see my face huh?" He asks getting closer to me.
- "Shut up!" And it got awkward, again.
- "So.. when's your birthday?" He asks after a while.
- "October 14th, i think."
- "You think?"
- "Yeah, i mean, it's the day i woke up in that forest and judging by my nightmare, I'm assuming that's my birthday." I say with a smile.
- "I'll make sure to remember that." He smiles back.
- "You're not allowed to give me a present though." I say firmly.
- "What? Why?"
- "Because! I didn't get you anything, that's not fare."
- "You got me dinner."
- "Okay, then you're allowed to buy me a dinner."
- "Deal."
- "Genma!" I yell all of sudden, startling Kakashi.
- "Mayumi, hi." He comes closer.
- "What are you doing here, I thought you were training Hikaru."
- "Yeah, he's already at home, we trained pretty hard today." He says scratching the back of his head.
- "You bruised him up, didn't you?" I ask and he steps back.
- "He's alive don't worry." He chuckles.
- "I better get home." I say worried, turning to Kakashi with an apologetic smile.
- "Yeah, of course." He says smiling, but with sadness in his voice.
- "Happy birthday maskey." I smile and peck his cheek getting on my tiptoes, before walking away.
