I felt the bite of something tight binding my wrists which were behind my back. They were aching as though they’ve been positioned like this for a while. My ankles were bound the same way my wrists were. I was laying on a dirty ground, tape over my mouth. Classic kidnapping situation. Great.

I opened my eyes and light was streaming through dusty windows. The smell was stagnant, musky. I could hear the waves of Lake Michigan crashing just outside the thin walls. The area was nearly completely empty with boxes scattered here and there.

“Ally… you’re awake.” Adrian stepped away from the shadows.

I grunted, I mean what else could I do?

Adrian sighed, rubbing the back of his neck with one hand. “I’m sorry for the uncomfortable situation. I know how you can get when you’re stubborn, otherwise I would untie bind you.”

I narrowed my eyes in response.

He chuckled softly. “Now, now…” Kneeling down so we would be nearly face to face he gave me his usual boyish smile. “This is problematic and I’m unsure of how I should proceed.” Gently, he pushed a strand of my hair out of my face, I flinched in response.

Adrian made a pained expression. “Don’t be like that Al’s, you know I’d never really hurt you.”

He knocked me out and tied me up in a warehouse, I wasn’t really sure of anything anymore.

“I may have acted a little irrationally earlier but I’m running out of options here.” He stood back up and dusted off his pants. He was in a completely different outfit than earlier. “We lost a little time, since you were out for a whole day but if we move quickly we should be able to make up for it.” Adrian looked down at his watch before looking back at me, attentively.

“You’ve always been such a good kid, is this what they call the rebellious stage? Shouldn’t this have happened while you were in high school or something?” Adrian sounded like an exhausted parent.

"Mmm!" I said against the tape, getting annoyed by his ranting.

“They’re looking for you, Alana and I can’t let them have you.” I couldn’t focus on what he was saying.

Gradually I sat up, kneeling. My body ached from being in that position and the floor was hard and provided little comfort. Slowly I worked on trying to get the restraints behind my back loose, but every movement just made them bite deeper into my skin. I held back a wince.

Adrian bent down slightly. “This might hurt a little…” Quickly he ripped the tape away from my mouth.

“WHAT THE HELL!” I hissed, it hurt more than a little.

Adrian snickered. “Consider that punishment.”

“Punishment?! For what? Untie me!” I sneered.

“Oh you know, punishment for running off with a demon.”

My eyes widened. “How do you know about that?”

“There’s a lot I know about.” Adrian responded casually.

I opened my mouth then closed it, speechless. He laughed. “You should see your expression. Truly, it’s one of your best.”

I huffed. “Untie me now, Adrian.”

“Ask nicely and I’ll think about it.” He crossed his arms.

I inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly trying to regain patience. I never had a temper but he already pushed me beyond my limit. “Please, untie me.” I stated through gritted teeth.

He smiled in response. “Remember this, if you run, I’ll just tie you up again.” Pulling out a pocket knife from his jeans, he walked behind me and uncut the binds around my ankles first before working on my wrists.

The moment I felt the slack of the restraints, I turned and pushed Adrian away from me before dashing to my feet and towards what I thought looked like an exit door. I made it nearly two steps before Adrian’s arms made their way around me, tackling me to the ground. His entire body pinned me against the floor, I grunted under his weight.

Adrian groaned. “What did I just tell you, Al’s?”

“Can’t blame me for trying.” I huffed.

“Alana…” He turned me over so I was facing him and straddled me, pinning my arms to my side. “We’re running out of time here and I need your cooperation.”

“No, get off me! You traitor! I trusted you…!” I wiggled underneath him.

Adrian placed a hand on each side of my head and leaned down, bringing his face closer to mine. It felt like I stopped breathing.

“Ever since your birthday… ” I hesitated before continuing. “I’ve tried to hide my feelings for so long, but I can’t do it anymore.” It felt as though my was an empty shell, cold and unnerving. How could I respond to that?

“You see, it seems as though I’ve committed a grave sin.” He paused thoughtful. “Grave, indeed.”

“Sin? What do you mean?” My mind jumped to Leviathan, the only sin I know.

Adrian closed his eyes and pressed his forehead against mine. “I’m in love with you, Alana.”

I blinked, what did he say?

“H-how is that a sin?” My voice sounded shaky even to myself. No one has ever said anything like those words to me.

When he finally opened his eyes again, those baby blue orbs were stern and filled with determination. “I’m your Guardian Angel.”

Minutes ticked as he waited for my response. He was kidding right? This was a joke? Ha ha? But after he said those words, they made perfect sense. How he was always there for me, always protecting me. Adrian has always been my voice of reason, helping me make some of the biggest decisions of my life.

Adrian saw the recognition in my eyes and gave me a small smile.

“Why didn’t you tell me earlier…?” I managed to finally say back, my throat felt dry and itchy.

“I couldn’t. I still technically can’t.” He stood slowly, unpinning me and holding out his hand to me, helping me up.

I felt awkward and uncomfortable around him now. Hugging my arms around my body, I looked down. “Can I just go home now?” I asked softly.

He wrapped his arms around me, bringing me closer to him and grabbed my chin gently making me look at him. “I’m sorry if I hurt you, but I can’t let you leave.”

“Why?” My voice quivered as I tried to fight the urge to cry. My mind couldn't take much more and I didn't bother to fight his hold on me. It was like the whole world that I thought existed didn’t, and there wasn’t anything I could do about it.

“Because… they know I’ve taken you, and they could be here any min—“ On cue, someone kicked out the door that I was originally try to escape out of.

“Knock, knock.” The voice was deep and smooth, familiar.

“Shit.” Adrian whispered.

“Would you look at that… my wife, in the arms of another man.” Leviathan's eyes peirced mine, cold and deadly as dust from the door he kicked down fanned around him. "Why am I not surprised?" His voice was dripping with venom.

Author's note: It's a little past 3:30 in the morning... who needs sleep? Pfft. So guys, um... last chapter gained the most votes in the span of 3 days than any other chapter. So uh... obviously, I'm flattered and extremely happy! This chapter is a little on the short side, mostly because Leviathan seemed like a bad ass and I didn't want to ruin it with continuing on. I'll try to post again soon! Again, thanks to all for the encouragement.  P.s. This is completely not edited... my baaad.
