Leviathan was by his brother’s side in an instant, grabbing him by the collar of his shirt and pulling him away from the fight. He tossed his brother to one end of the warehouse and kicked Adrian towards the other side both men hitting the walls with a thud.

“Hey, what did you do that for?!” Tirian grumbled, getting back to his feet like it was a mere push, and brushing dust off himself

Adrian on the other hand lied motionless in the pile of crates near him. I gasped and ran up to him.

“Adrian!” Never have I seen Adrian fight, not even in school. He was a lover, unlike Leviathan and his brothers.

Shelly giggled in delight, impressed by Leviathan’s strength. “Levi! I love it when you get rough.”

I ignored Shelly, too consumed with my best friend. Adrian had a deep wound on his cheek, scarring his flawless skin. His hair was soaked in sweat and his arm was bleeding badly. My bottom lip quivered as I kneeled down to rub his cheek. “Adrian?” I whispered. I noticed his chest rise and fall, relieving me of some of the tension.

“Alana…” Leviathan warned.

I turned around and glared at him harshly. “You didn’t have to do something like that!”

“Yes, as a matter of fact I—“Leviathan started before getting interrupted by a low whistle.

“What happened here?” Gabriel, the angel, asked while looking around the nearly empty warehouse at the door that Leviathan entered through earlier.

Leviathan grabbed me by the wrist hard, tugging me towards him. Tirian and Shelly’s stances grew defensive but the angel rose his hand up defensively.

"We did not come for a fight.” He waved his hand towards Adrian. “I came to retrieve my brethren.”

Michael moved from behind Gabriel and walked carelessly towards Adrian, not fearful of any of the demons in the room. Picking up Adrian’s limp body and cradling him lovingly, he glanced in my direction.

“W-what are you going to do with him?” I asked hesitantly. Would Leviathan fight for Adrian’s sake if I asked him to? Probably not.

“Do you really care?” Gabriel’s eyes were hard. Again, guilt riddled me.

Michael sighed and brushed Adrian’s hair out of his face. “Gabriel.”

Gabriel picked up Adrian’s blade and it reverted back to a pocket knife. “We’re taking him to a healer.”

“Care to join us?” Michael asked, hopeful.

Part of me wanted to go with them while the other part still didn’t trust them. Do I let them take Adrian so easily? Was he safe with Tirian anyways? It was as if Leviathan could see me waver through decisions.

“She’s not going anywhere.”

“You’re running out of time, Alana.” Gabriel stated, dismissing what Leviathan said.

“Although you walk the line between dark and light,” Michael smiled tentatively at me. “You’ll always be in our prayers.”

Leviathan made a noise of disgust.

I decided to let them exit with Adrian in hand. He was safer with them then he was with us. At least he was with other angel’s. Gabriel was a little scary but Michael seemed nice enough. Leviathan’s hold on my wrist grew tighter.
