Sabrina POV
"Hey Sabrina."Reggie says.
He was a regular in this store.
"Hey Reggie."i say while ringing his items up.
"How are you tonight?"he ask.
"I could be better but I won't complain."i say.
"That's what I like to hear."he says.
"Your total is $5.50."i say.
He hands me a ten dollar bill and fifty cents.
"You can keep the change."he says and I smile softly.
"Thank you Reggie."i say.
He grabs his items and head for the door.
"Have a nice day."he says as he walks out.
"Alright Mr. Jackson, I am out of here."i say.
"Goodbye."he yells from the back.
I grab my bag and run outside to catch the bus.
*
"This is your stop Sabrina."Pamela says as I stand up."See you tomorrow Pam."i say.
"See you tomorrow."she says.
I get off and walk down the block to my apartment complex.
I open the door and the stench of beer hits my nose.
I close the door silently and walk all the way in to see Jake passed out on the couch.
I walk into my room making sure to close and lock the door behind me.
I discard my clothing and change into comfortable clothes.
My stomach began growling and I clutch onto it.
I sigh as I dig in my bag for my last bag of chips.
I open the bag and quickly eat them.
Making sure I don't wake that poor excuse of a father up.
I swallow it down with some water and I close my eyes slowly drifting to sleep.
*
I wake up to glass breaking."Shit."Jake cusses and hisses out loud.
I roll out of bed and into the bathroom.
