I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock beeping. I tiredly walked over to my outfit and got dressed. I put on some simple makeup with all-natural colors. Nothing too extravagant. I grabbed my backpack, phone, and water bottle and headed out of my apartment. I saw that Peter was a few feet ahead, so proceeded to catch up with him.

"Hey Peter, wait up!"

He turned around to see me doing my fast walk and began to laugh at me. "Stop laughing you goon!" I said laughing with him. He put his hands up in innocence and began walking when I caught up. "So your parents weren't mad at you last night?"

"Peter, my parents aren't actually here right now. They're coming later! They had something to do at the old house." I lied. I don't know who or where my parents are. For all, I know they could be dead. I was fine about it before my brother died, but when he did, I felt so lonely. Like I had no other family.

"Oh!" he said with a laugh.  We walked most of the way in silence. I was worried me lying might have caused him to not trust me. I started to get nervous and freak out. A few minutes before we got there, I decided to apologize and see what happens. "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For lying to you! I don't know why I did, I just... I wasn't thinking straight yesterday..."

"That's alright Y/n! I forgive you! I'm sure you have a lot going on right now and you're just trying to fit in!" He said assuringly. We started to talk a little more, and before I knew it, we made it to the school. "So, do you think you could show me where to get my schedule?"

"Yeah of course! It's just at the main office! Follow me!" He took me to the main office, and there I got my schedule. "Wow!" he said looking at my schedule.

"What? Did they do something wrong?"

"No, it's just that... We have all the same classes!"

"No way!" I said playing along. E.P.I.C. must have hacked the school system to give me the same classes.

"Yeah way! Well, I'll show you where your locker is. It isn't anywhere near mine!" he said with a laugh.

"We walked over to my locker, and I put all the books I didn't need inside. Peter's stuff was ready so we walked straight to our class. We were sitting next to each other when his friend Ned came into the classroom. "Ned!" Peter exclaimed. "This is Y/n! She's new here and she lives next door to me."

"Oh, that's so cool! It's nice to meet you Y/n!"

"You too! I'm glad I'm fitting in so far!" I said with a laugh. Ned sat on the other side of Peter when the bell rang.

"Alright, class! We have a new student with us!" She said gesturing your hand towards me. "How about you tell us a little about yourself!"

"Uh, my name's Y/n, I used to live in Cincinnati. Mostly with my brother, Lincoln, because our parents were always working, but then my brother got a job somewhere else. My dad has some family here, so we decided it would be best to move here! And... yeah!"

"Very good! Well, we're happy to have you here Y/n."

"Happy to be here," I said under my breath.

In the middle of class, I got a text from my commander.

Commander: We have decided to stage an accident. Any day now, one of our agents with powers will act as if they're going to steal and kill a group of our own. We want it to be realistic so we're not going to go easy on you or tell you where. That is for you to figure out.

Y/n: Yes sir. I will be prepared for all that is to come.

Commander: Remember your training.
