It ain't Christmas yet but I sure proved myself I write quicker than I first thought. The first chapters are going to be a bit hard to get Elira involved in, other than tales from the past. In a few chapters, you will definitely see more of her and I can't wait until we reach the Desolation of Smaug. Anyways, enjoy this chapter!

Just like father had said, we left early in the morning before the sun had even set. Father, Gandalf and I were leading the company, the rest following behind in pairs. It had soon become light and after a couple more hours I could hear a faint voice behind us.

''Do you hear that?''

Father raised his eyebrows, eventually hearing someone in the distance telling us to wait. Was it who I thought it was?

''Everyone stop,'' I ordered, earning a strange look from my father but he obeyed to my words like everyone else. I stopped Rosie from walking any further, a smile forming on my face as I saw the Hobbit running towards us with the contract in his hand.

''I signed it,'' Bilbo said as soon he had reached us and caught his breath. He gave the contract to Balin, who read everything carefully and eventually nodded.

''Everything appears to be in order. Welcome, master Baggins, to the company of Thorin Oakenshield.''

''Give him a pony,'' Thorin ordered before he gave his pony a sign to continue walking and I soon followed with Rosie.

''No, no, no, no. That...that won't be necessary. Thank you. I'm sure I can keep up on foot. Yeah, I...I've done my fair share of walking holidays, you know? Even got as far as Frog Morton once.''

Bilbo kept on rambling about the fact that he wouldn't need a pony and I look back, nodding to Fíli and Kíli and the two brothers lifted the Hobbit onto the remaining pony. I giggled out, looking back ahead of myself as we continued the journey, now with our fifteenth member.

The Dwarfs had placed bets on Bilbo coming along or not and I saw the small bags of money being thrown to others. A small grin formed upon my lips as Nori threw one bag at me, chuckling out softly before he said: ''I should have never doubted you, majesty.''

''Indeed you shouldn't, and please just call me Elly,'' I giggled, putting the bag of coins into the huge back on Rosie's back. We continued our journey until it was dark and we reached a nice spot to spend the night. Father ordered us to stop and gave us the jobs to do. Bombur cooked dinner and once that was all done, most Dwarfs went to sleep.

I stayed up with my family, sitting beside Fíli near the campfire as I used one of my daggers to sharpen a stick I had found out of pure boredom. Bilbo was awake too, feeding an apple to Myrtle and I slightly grinned to myself. As if I couldn't see.

Suddenly we all heared a shrieking noise and my eyes widened. Father awoke too. Goosebumps formed upon my skin as I immediately got flashbacks and I shivered.

''What was that?''

Bilbo walked towards us, making me look up as Kíli answered: ''Orcs.''

The two Dwarf brothers were scaring Bilbo with the description of the Orcs, eventually bursting out laughing. This gesture made me put too much pressure on the stick with my dagger and it got cut in half. At the exact same moment I could hear my father speaking.

''You think that's funny? You think a night raid by orcs is a joke?''

''We didn't mean anything by it,'' Kíli said, a little shocked by the reaction of his uncle. I got up, leaving my two cousins behind as I sat down on the edge of the rock we were camping. I gazed into the distance.
