I've always liked the rain, I liked the smell, I liked how it felt in the burning sun, how it cooled me down in the dry heat. It seemed like everything happened in the rain, all the good things like my first kiss, and all the bad things like a funeral. Here even though it rains the sun is still shining brightly, there are little clouds if not any. It is strange but its something I've always liked about where I lived.
I was hiking up a mountain, it seemed like it was mid-July, probably the hottest time in the summer. I finally got to the top and exhaustedly I fell straight to the ground. Not caring about getting dirty from the dirt on the ground. A cold pressure was put on my forehead. I opened my eyes immediately covering them from the bright sun. A cold water bottle rested on my forehead. And the person who's hand was holding the water bottle was tall but blurred with the bright sun glaring in my eyes.
I grabbed the water bottle from his hands and sat up. I wiped off the sweat from my face with the collar of my shirt and opened then bottle, practically chugging the water till the bottle was empty. It was refreshing but the sun was still burning against my skin. I laid my head on the persons shoulder as they sat down next to me. Even though we were both sweaty and hot. It was comfortable being near them.
We both looked out at the scenery to what we've just accomplished. The view was massive. As we were so far above from where the city was. I felt something fall on my face, I wiped it off, water. I looked up as more water fell on my face. I smiled and and got up. Taking his hand and running down the hill that we just climbed. Trying to avoid the rain. It came down hard and as we ran is felt refreshing. We finally got to the bottom of the hill and jumped into the car.
We both paused for a minute then broke out laughing. I remember. Him sitting in the driver seat. Laughing with his crooked smile and perfect face. I remember, I put my forehead on his shoulder and sighed.
I woke up to the sun coming in through the blinds of my apartment. I looked around for a bit feeling disoriented. And realized I was on my couch. I saw on the coffee table a sticky note.
We both knocked out lol, headed to work, I put remaining snacks in your pantry.
- CassI got up putting my hand over my mouth and nose to smell my breathe. It was not great.. at all. I got up from the couch and decided to take a shower because I forgot to last night.
I grabbed the first shirt and pants that I saw in my drawer and then headed to the bathroom. I started to strip and take off my shirt. Then a seething pain stretched across my shoulders. I must've slept in a very uncomfortable position. I looked at my back.
A dragon surrounding a large sword was stretched across my back. It was something that I had gotten a long time ago. The only feminine thing about it was there were some cherry blossom flowers surrounding the dragon and sword too. It cost too much to remove and a part of me didn't want to remove it. It was practically a part of who I was. But I didn't want to face that part.
I got into the shower. I felt more refreshed and clean. I stayed under as it sprayed on me like small daggers. I looked up and closed my eyes. Letting the small daggers go on my face and wash away who I was.
