Pendant

Chapter 1

 " Harper! Get up already, you have your chores to do until its time for school!" Granny yelled from the kitchen. I groaned, " Granny! Just five more minutes." Angry knocks erupted from my door, "Harper get up this instant! It's 7:30 in the morning!" this got me going, Granny was not someone to go against; yes she was fun and loving but she's strict as hell. 

I opened my door and clambered down from the attic, trudging towards the front door to see Granny out. i glanced at a picture on the wall- a picture of my mom, my dad and me. I thought back to that one night and my mood instantly dropped. That night, my mother and father had sacrificed their lives just for me. Tears pricked the back of my eyes but I blinked them away. "Harper? Please don't think about Liam and Tianna, its early morning." Granny stated. My head snapped towards her and I fake smiled, "Granny! I'm not sad at all. I was just wishing them a good morning" She pursed her lips, "I know you miss them but what happened that night wasn't your fault." I glared at her, "aren't you supposed to be leaving?" She sighed, "I'm sorry, just; do your chores before you leave for school. Tell Angie I said hello, okay? later kiddo", with that she left. My spirit lifted at the mention of my best friend's name; Angie was my one and only friend. I immediately took action, I feed my dog, swept the house, did some dishes and then had my breakfast. Yes, I had my work to do before school, do not judge.

After breakfast, I showered to get ready for school. I slung my backpack on my shoulder and went to my porch, to wait for Angie so we could walk to school together. A few minutes later a voice shrieked, "Harper Gold!" I looked up to see none other than Angie Pager hurring towards me. I grinned, "Hullo Angie! Someone's in a good mood." She looped her arm through mine, "yah! You don't want me to sulk, do you?" I rolled my eyes, we arrived at school at 8:45 a.m., class starts at 9:00. 'Only 15 more minutes' I thought to myself.

When I walked through the doors, all eyes were on me. Everyone began to whisper about me, I kept my head low and walked to my locker. So my life was very confusing, let me explain.

My dad's name was Liam Gold and my mom's name was Tianna. I, was their only daughter and we were a perfect family until one night; there was a fire in our home. My dad saved me and then went to look for my mom, who was also looking for me in the fire. When he went back to the house, it exploded. I was 6 at the time so i didn't know any other family except Granny, Lin Gold. I lived with her for 12 years, I'm 18 years now. The reason why people were gossiping about me was because I, apparently, was the most beautiful girl in Green Hills; my home town. Everyone thought that I would use that to my advantage, to rule my school, but I'm not like that. Angie was the only person who decided to actually be my friend. Now that you know my story, i may continue this one.

I've gotten used to all stares and whispers but what urked me was Eve Nortly's bullying. everyday she'd try to lower my self-esteem but she could never get under my skin. She is basically the school's queen bee and bully because her father invested in the school. "well, well, well. If it isn't miss Harper Gold." a shrill voice echoed. i internally graoned, speak of the devil and he will appear. the hall became hushed and all eyes were on us. I sighed, "Eve, are you stalking me? Can't see my face enough?" Students stiffled heir laugh as Eve glared at them," We all know I'm way prettier than you so quiet." A few student laughed at this. "Please!"Angie bagan, " Did the mayor award you with a medal for beauty? If you ever got a medal what would it be for?" i rolled my eyes "she'd probably get one for being the most She is not the whore." Angie piped up. Chase turned and slapped her, this struck a nerve in me. That. Was. It.

I was never so angry in that moment. I shoved Chase, "what is your problem you bitch. Why in the world would you hit a girl!? Eve doesn't even love or like you. You're a moron." He was about to say something when fear flashed in his eyes. What was that about? i Turned to look at Angie, "are you alright?" SHe nodded but gasped when she saw my face, "Harper! whats wrong with your eyes?" i was confused, my eyes where normal. did chase hit her that hard? no, he was backing away from me aswell. What? I turned to the mirror in the hall and i frowned. My golden eyes were glowing, Chase screamed next to me, "you're a demon! You monster!" then he ran away shaking. i lokked at Angie and she was about to say something but i ran. I ran out of the school, away from everyone. "Harper!" someone called behiknd me. I turned and snapped, " Wat Angie? Can't you see there is some crazy shit going on with me that i need to figure out? I'm a monster and I don't want you to get hurt. Please go away" She stopped following me but shouted, "I know someone who would have answers!" i turned to her confusingly," who?" she smiled warmly, "Mrs. Lin. She most likely would have an idea." Slowly, i nodded, " yeah, most likely" Granny had some answersand i wasn't leaving untill i had one.

Helooooooooooo. So this is my story that  i will be finishing.....i wouldnt leave you hanging like Princess of the Forest. So this is my first officail book n i hope that you guys enjoy reading it as much as i enjoyed writing it
