Chapter 7

"Nicolas's fiance"

My mood instantly dropped at those words. Nickolas and Gabriella are going to get married? When? Why? Why didn't he tell me? Are we not that much of friends that he didn't tell me? are we friends at all? i cleared my throat, "uh- really? whoa Nick why didn't you tell me any of this?" He blushed and rubbed the back of his neck, "hehe. sorry, i guess i forgot with all the training and stuff." Gabriella faked a confused look, "but Nickie, i thought you told all of the commoners about our wedding?" i laughed, "oh no! I'm not a commoner" She eyed me, "oh honey you're right. You look more like a peasant." I gaped at her like a fish; THAT WITCH! Nickolas frowned, "Baby what?! no, Harper is the golden eyed, light powered Princess! the one to bring warmth and rule us all!" She paled slightly, "r-really? wo-wow, that's imp-impressive. so you'll be ruling over all?" i inwardly rolled my eyes, 'is this bitch dumb?' i thought to myself. i shrugged, "yeah i guess. it kind of excites me, ya' know? to rule over all of celestivia and ALL people." Her expression darkened, "NIckolas, can i talk to you for a moment?" He nodded and they both stood off to the side...talking. i returned to reading my book for about half an hour, then i picked up all my books and walked over to the still arguing couple. "Nickolas! Since you are clearly busy; i'll be training with these book in the arena" without waiting for a reply, I trudged out of the library and walked towards the arena. I began to do the different hand gestures, which made controlling my magic. A few hours later, my stomach was grumbling very painfully so I decided to stop until later. I grabbed my books and headed towards my room, thinking that I'd study a bit more. As I entered, Angie yelled at me causing me to drop my books, "Harper! where were you?! Nicklas said you left the library and he didn't know where you were!" I picked up all of my books and put them on my nightstand before sitting on my bed, "How? I told Nick I'd be in the arena training; o well. he must have been distracted my Gabriella." Angie eyed me, "I honestly don't like her. She is rude and clings onto Prince Nickolas all of the time." I just shrugged and closed my sore eyes, "I think she doesn't like me since I took 'her' kingdom from her." Angie rolled her eyes, "anyway, im guessing you're hungry. Lunch was about an hour ago so i'll go get you a snack to keep you up until dinner time. kay?" I just nodded and she left the room.

After my very late lunch snack I decided to take a short nap. (lolz that rhymes) I was awoen by a soft knocking on my door, it was Tanya; apparently the king needed to see me. I slowly got up and made my way to his cozy study. Now, i'm waiting on Nick...and Gabriella to come. Suddenly, a knock sounded on the door and the couple entered, taking a seat opposite me. Gabriella Smiled towards King Soren, "King Soren! you requested us?" Soren seemed annoyed at Gabriella but he just nodded, "uh- yes. Harper, do you know that since you are the rightful daughter of Celestianna, you literally own the kingdom; with that of your rare powers right?" I nodded and he turned to Nickolas, " And you my son, you do know you are an automatic king here as well?" Nick nodded at his father. Gabriella squealed, "I'm going to marry Nick!mI am an automatic leader as well right?" the king set his lips in a serious, thin line, "I'm sorry Miss Alcance but your marriage was thankfully arranged, but I am calling it off. the counsil and I have come to a decision where you would marry a Prince from another sub-kingdom. It would be a lot easlier." Nick stood, "but father! She is the only princess fit for marring right now!" The king smiled softly at his son, "my boy there is another!" "NO! I want to be Queen of Celestivia! I want Nickie as my King as well!" Gabriella wailed.

She sank in her seat and fake sobbed. I knew she didn't actually love Nick and I'm sure the king knew that too because he only looked at her and didn't make a move to comfort her like his son; blinded by love I guess. Soren looked at me and smiled, "Nickolas, as I was saying; we have another Princess. Fit for you to marry!" Nick frowned at his father, "Father what are you trying to say?" The king then turned to me, "you are going to marry Harper"
