Chapter 6

 I did not dream that night, which was a good thing but during my quite comfortable nap; someone shook me awake. "come on Harper....a blizzard is approaching. Do you want to get frostbite?" Nickolas's voice cut through the silence. I groaned, "nooo. Let me sleep" I heard him chuckle, "alright fine. how about, if you get up, I wouldn't make you walk all the way to your room; you'll sleep in mine?" my eyes instantly fluttered open and I sat up, "okay, that sound like a deal." He stood and held his hand out towards me which, I took. We quickly grabbed our stuff and climbed through the skylight into Nick's room. When he shut the little window, I crawled on his soft bed and spread the blanket around. He raised an eyebrow at my antics while i patted the space next to me, "come on Nickie. We need to sleep...we have alot of training tomorrow." He sighed in defeat, "alright" He clambered in the bed and snuggled into the blanket next to me and we fell asleep instantly. I was woken up the next morning by the excessive giggling of maids that were in Nick's room.

On investigating the situation, Nickolas and I had moved to a position, during the night, to be snuggling. Flustered, Nick sent me off with one of the maids as a guide, to help me back to my room. Her name was Tanya Nortly, she was a bit dark skinned, had short choppy hair and was very short. I wonder if she was related to Eve...o well; wouldn't hurt to ask. "tanya....Do you have a sister called Eve Nortly?" She glanced at me, "had a sister with that name yes. why do you ask?" i shrugged nonchalantly, "I know someone from earth with that name." Tanya just nodded and continued to lead me to my room. I wonder if she was banished onto Earth? Maybe or it could've been simpler. Tanya smiled sadly at me, "She died, when you die in Celestivia; you are reborn as a human on Earth." "oh" I nodded. That explains the situation, I wonder if my mom would be reborn as a human? Tanya did say if you died IN Celestivia and not if you are Celestivian. I sighed and entered my room, Angie was sitting on her bed smirking at me, "so, you're running off at night to go see your boyfriend?" I blushed, "Nick is not my boyfriend. how do you even know I slept over by him?" She closed her eyes, "word travels fast around here; even if it's about their precious prince." I looked at her accusingly but she waved me off, "details later. Right now we need to have some breakfast." As if on cue, my stomach rumbled, I grinned, "my tummy agrees" Angie nodded, "off to the feasting hall!" 

At the mess hall, I was eating my toast and chatting with Angie about the festival. "two more days till the festival! I'm so excited, can't wait to see everyone warm again!" Angie nodded beside me, "yeah, its so damn cold in here." I laughed and shook my head before taking a sip of my tea. A loud horn blew through the hall, carrying everyone's attention to the double doors while a guard announced, "Welcoming Princess Gabriella Alcance, princess and heiress to the Sub-southern kingdom of Celestivia!" The large doors slowly swung open and a girl with a grey and white fluffy fur coatted dress with furry boots; shoulder short blonde hair, grey eyes and a dainty face entered. Everyone bowed and then continued with their previous activities. "who is this Gabriella Alcance? she acts like she owns this place." Angie whispered next to me. i frowned at her, "she is princess of the sub-southern kingdom of Celestivia....she kind of does-" "Nonsense! you are ruler of ALL of Celestivia. You rule her, you own this place...not her." i ignored Angie and continued eating. After we were done, i asked Tanya to how me to the library. i had decided to go and learn the theory part of using my magic since Nick was nowhere to be found to help me with the practical. When i asked Tanya about him and his whereabouts she wouldn't meet my eyes when she said she last saw him entered his room with Princess Gabriella but now they aren't anywhere. When i asked if she wasn't concerned with their sudden absence she just said, "no. this is normal for those two to disappear. Always running off, catching up on the things they missed" 

"oh! so Princess Gabriella comes here often?" 

Tanya nodded, "yes. it's only natural since- uhhhhh. umm, Oh look! the library! uh- i need to go to the kitchen....goodbye your highness. See you at dinner!" then she scurried off. Why did she avoid my question like that? oh well, at least i'm at the library; i can finally get started on the theory of my magical powers. I entered the grand library and gasped. So many unread books...just sitting on the shelves, waiting for me to read them; this library is a nerd's heaven, my heaven. It was a book utopia! The smell of the books engulfed me and i breathed it in; i love this place already. i set to work, looking for books on how to control my powers and after two hours; i had found at least seven books. I began to read them and was in my own little world until i heard a deep voice shout next to me, "HARPER!" i jumped slightly and found Nick walking towards me. He had a gigantic grin on his face and i was worried his cheeks would fall off, "come! i have someone for you to meet!" I closed my book and stood up, giving him a soft smile, "okay, who am i meeting?" A small figure stepped out from behind Nickolas and he explained, "This is Gabby. Gabs, meet Harper." She was the girl who came this morning during breakfast, she gave me a once over, face twisting in light disgust. Then hse plastered a sickly sweet but fake smile and chirped in an annoying voice, "Hullo, I'm Priincess Gabriella Alcance of the southern sub-kingdom of Celestivia....Nickolas's fiance"
