Tatum's POV

I came into the apartment, and saw Veronica sitting at the table, scrolling through the comments of the post.

"I'll take that." I stated, and took the phone away from her.

"Hey!" She exclaimed. I slid into the seat next to her.

"Just ignore them, they don't know the real you, okay?" I comforted, and then Mom came over to us.

"Hey, I've been meaning to ask, how was your date last night?" Mom asked her. "I liked the looks of that boy."

"More handsome on the outside, the more rotten on the inside." Veronica replied.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Mom asked.

"Nothing. Just that he's not really my type." Veronica responded. "And, Tatum ruined his face by giving him a black eye."

"You did what?!" Mom demanded.

"Thanks for ratting me out, Ronnie." I muttered, and Veronica went out to take a call.

"Why did you punch that boy in the face?" Mom asked, crossing her arms.

"Because I wanted to." I answered, and mimicked her by crossing my arms as well. Mom rolled her eyes at me, then Veronica came back into the room.

"Tatum, we have to go. Betty wants to meet us at the school." Veronica told me.

When we arrived, we went to the room that Betty had told us to meet her in. There was seven other girls in the room.

"This story is bigger that we thought." Betty stated. "I started asking around, to see if what happened to you happened to anyone else, and if anyone would go on record."

"I will. One hundred percent." A red haired girl spoke.

"Okay." Betty said quietly, then spoke louder. "It's five guys on the football team, Chuck and his posse. Ethel was just about to tell us."

"One day last year, Chuck and I talked in the library for ten minutes. I helped him with a pre-calc problem, and nothing happened." Ethel explained. "But, the next day, he started telling people that I let him do stuff to me. Like, sex stuff."

That's horrible. I thought to myself, and gave Ethel a sympathetic look.

"And then, he, or one of his goons, wrote 'Sloppy Seconds' on my locker." Ethel was cut off by a voice from the doorway.

"Yes, yes, we've all heard your tragic origin story." Cheryl interrupted.

"I'm so, so sorry, Ethel." Betty comforted. "That's horrible." That's definitely something that Betty would do. Like the kind, amazing person she is.

"Not as horrible as being a suspect in your own brother's torture-murder case, but, we all have our crosses." Cheryl argued. "In the meantime, River Vixen practice starts in five minutes, sluts. So..."

"They're ruining our lives, and to them, it's just a game." Ethel spoke. "They keep score and--"

"Wait. What do you mean, keep score?" I asked Ethel.

"Each conquest earns them points. They keep track in some secret playbook." Ethel explained.

"Okay, we have to talk to Weatherbee." Betty insisted.

"I already tried. Weatherbee said that he didn't find anything." Ethel argued.

"Okay, we need undeniable proof." Betty told us.
