Meeting The Family

Lexi's Pov

      There stands my father. He looks different from the last time i saw him which was about 10 years so..He looks surprised to see me. I wonder why its his fault i'm here. "Please come in" He says moving to let us into his house. We enter and i'm amazed by how big the house is. I look over to Mae and she has a shocked look on her face aswell. Willman steps forward. "Hi. I'm Willman we talked on the phone. This is my wife Mae." He reaches his hand out and shakes hands with my father. "Of course. It's nice to meet you too." He then turns his attention over to me and smiles. "It's good to see you again Lexi." He reaches for a hug and i take a step back. "You can call me  Alexis." I said coldly towards him. "Of course." We are all quiet. "Honey. Is she here?" I see a woman who looks about in her early forties like my father. "Yes honey. This is Mae and Willman and my daughter Lex- I mean Alexis. This is my wife Kathy." He states toward i assume his wife. The woman he left my mother and I for. "Well why don't we go into the living room and talk." She says smiling at all of us. 

      We all walk into the living room and Kathy goes and gets the kids. A few minutes later she enters with two boys and two girls. "This is Mae and Willman and My daughter Alexis." My father  says facing his kids. "Alexis these are the kids. Thats Curtis, Adam, Carrie and Bethany." He points to who they are. "Nice to meet y'all" I say back not really caring cause i don't want to be here. I look over to my father. "Where am i staying?" I ask curiously. "Right. Beth why don't you take Alexis to her room." Kathy states looking at Beth. "Of course follow me." She says grabbing my hand. I look over to Willman and Mae for help and she looks down and Willman looks like hes about to laugh.

     She leads me up the stairs into the third door on the right. I enter then room and the bed is right across from the window and the closet is to the right when you enter the room with a next on the other side of the room. "This is your room. The bathroom is right across from the room and my room is just next door." She says with a smile. "Can i help you unpack?" She asked after i put my bag on the bed. "No but can you leave i need to make a phone call." I ask trying to be nicely but fail. "Right. Of course I'll get you when dinners ready." "Great thank you." She leaves and i get my phone dialing Kevin it rings twice.

   "Hey Lex" His voice calms me down. "Hey, I made it here and I miss you like crazy." I state trying to hold the tears back. He notices my voice doesn't sound right. "Lexi are you okay? Talk to me. Whats wrong?" He says in a caring tone. "I just want to be home with you and the guys. I met my dads wife  and his 4 kids the older two look my age and i just need to see you. Can you come get me?" I say urgently with tears running down my face. He sighs into the phone. "Lexi if i could i would come get you but everyone is right. You have to stay with him I'll visit this week. I promise." We end up talking for awhile he manages to calm me down. Then i hear a knocking on my door. "Come in." I say. Adam i think his name was walks into the room. "Hang on Kev. My fathers son is here." I look at Adam." What do you want?" "I had to get you for dinner. So hurry up with your boyfriend and come downstairs." He says annoyed and leaves. I turn my attention back to Kevin. "Sorry Kev. He had to tell me dinners ready." "Okay I'll talk to you tomorrow. I love you Lex." "I love you too Kev." I hang up and walk down stairs towards the dining room.

    I see Mae and Willman sitting and i walk towards the  on across from them next to Beth and Curtis. I see we are having chicken and salad. I sit. "Sorry i was on the phone." Willman looks at me smirking. "Kevin miss you already." I glare at him. "Who's Kevin" My father asked curiously. I look over to him. "Hes my boyfriend." "Oh that's great maybe you can invite him to dinner sometime." He trys to make a conversation. We all get quiet as we eat. Kathy speaks up. "So Alexis tell us about yourself. Play any sports." "Well i use to run. Never got into any other sports." I try to make a conversation with her. "Used to. Why don't you run anymore?" Beth asks. "I still run just not competitely. I stopped after my accident." Willman takes a deep breathe remembering being the first responder on the scene. "You were in a accident?" Curtis asked carefully. "Yeah. I was in the hospital for what a week or so." I said looking over a Mae. She was there everyday telling me what was going on. "Yeah something like that." "I didn't know you were in a accident none the less that you were in the hospital." My father finally speaks. "How could you? You never tried to contact me." I say taking a bite of me chicken. "Lexi!" Willman says in a stern voice. "What its the truth." "Say your sorry NOW!" I look at him in disbelief and turn to my father who looks shocked at the scene like everyone else but Mae. "I'm sorry for saying the truth." I say coldly. "Alexis Shae Anderson living room NOW!" He says  getting up and i follow him.

      We enter the living room w away from the listening ears. "What is your problem?" He asks me with his arms crossed. "I don't know. Maybe the fact i have to live here with him after all these years of never hearing from him or seeing him." I say back with my arms crossed staring at him. "Well i don't care for this attitude. You need to lose it. I know things have been hard lately but the court says he has every right to be a legal guardian. So you have to suck it up and deal with it." I'm beyond mad at what i'm hearing. "Now you will go in there and apologize the correct way and sit and eat your dinner." I nod. "Do you understand?" I look up to him. "Yes sir," I say with no attitude.

    We enter the dining room and it gets quiet. I look over to my father. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that." I say towards him. "It's alright." I nod and go back to eating my food in peace and quiet. As dinner is done the kids go up to their rooms and the adults and me go to the front door walking Willman and Mae to the door. I hug Mae and tell her Thank you. When i get to Willman he whispers in my ear. "Be good. I mean it i'm too old to make this drive." He says the last part in a joking matter. "I will be. Y'all be careful please." "We will. Love you." they tell me. "Love y'all too. Goodnight." I give them one more hug then go upstairs to my bedroom.
