Chapter 37

Nikki's POV

Im surrounded by the smell of rotten flesh, burnt wood and crap, yes crap as in poo. I know what that smell is and it only means one thing, we need to defend. The smell is so strong that im almost afraid to shift, its like shifting would be punishing my wolf. I run to Alexis and Brian's room only to find a rogue staring at the as if they were lunch. I let out a growl so loud that i felt the house shack beneath my feet, the rogue looked at me with a startled experssion of his face.
"Get the fuck away from my children!" I yelled, but i didn't only here my voice i heard the voice of my wolf. We were both pissed at the fact that the rogues decided to attack to day of all days, but we knew it wasn't a coincidence. They knew that everyone would be out celebrating the first birthday of their future Luna.
The wolf stared at me, i could see the fear in his eyes but then he just smirked at me. I was taken back by this, what stupid fool smirks at someone who is going to kill them. I used my speed to attack and kill him, i then grabbed my children and rushed downstairs. I made my way down the bunker, trying to find out where the rest of the packs females and children were hiding. When i finally found them i gave Alexis and Brian to one of the nurses and made my way back upstairs to where the fight is.

Alex's POV 

They just came out of nowhere, one minute i was doing patrols with Sam and Lucas and the next thing i know we are surrounded by rogues. Its been a few hours and we are still fighting, ive kept in contact with Kiara, Ryder and Nikki. Kiara is down in the bunker with all the other woman and children but Nikki thought it best to come up and fight, although im thankful because she has saved my life a few times, Ryder will be furious. I lost contact with Ryder about an hour ago and I havent seen him. Im busy fighting off two rogues when i see these flashes of brown, black and white pass me, I know who two of them are because there are only 2 wolves in our pack that are almost pure black and pure white and only pack memebers with a high ranking have special abilities such as speed but I'm not sure who the brown wolf is. I quickly finish off these 2 rogues and i follow them. They stopped in a clearing, only the four of us but then we hear growls from all around us. Nikki and i start attacking the wolves that have formed around us while Ryder attacks the brown wolf but before i turn to start attacking the other wolves, i notice that the brown wolf has a scar across his right eye. Another hour passes and these rogues just keep coming, its like there is an endless supply of them. Im about to attack another rogue when i hear a howl but this isnt just any howl its a painful one. I turn to my left to see Nikki's wolf shaking, almost as if she is going to shift for the first time. The rogues stop attacking us and start staring at something behind me, so i turn around and right infront of me is Ryder on the floor with the brown wolf on top of him, they are both badly injured. Just as the brown wolf bites into Ryder's neck there is a flash of white and an audible crack within seconds the brown  wolf is on the floor and Nikki is by Ryder's side. She shifts into human form and puts Ryder's head on her lap, she keeps stroking his fur telling him its going to be ok and that he mustn't close his eyes.
"SOMEONE GET ME THE PACK DOCTOR!" she screams so loud that every wolf in the clearing flinches. I mind-link the doctor and tell him to hurry, as we wait for the doctor i just sit and watch, as does eveyone else. Within a few minutes the doctor still isnt here and all i can hear is Nikki saying that its going to be ok. I look down at my paws because i know what is going to happen if the doctor doesnt get here soon but when i look up I'm shocked to see Nikki shaking. Not like she is going to shift kind of shaking is more of an uncontrollable kind. She continues to shake but now she is starting to glow, well more like she is emitting this white light. A few minutes passed and the doctor arrived but he is too scred to go near the Luna because he doesnt know whats happening to her. The light keeps on getting brighter and soon she shifts into her wolf, but its not her wolf or atleast i dont think it is. The wolf before me is the size of an alpha, her fur is no longer a plain white but it glistens silver in the moonlight and the line of black fur on her back has almost darkened but it glistens navy blue, well more of a midnight blue. But she isnt the only one who changed, Ryders wolf also got bigger and his black fur darkened and it glistens midnight blue in the moonlight and the white strip down his back became more pure but it glistens silver. Its almost like they are the complete opposite of each other. She stands up and starts licking his wounds and they start healing. I know one of her special abilities it healing but not like this, within a few minutes the wound is completely healed and the white glow that surrounded her is gone but her wolf doesn't change but to its original colour.
