Chatper 56 - The Accident

(Paige’s P.O.V.)

We decided today would be a could day for ice skating. The boys really wanted to go, so that’s what we’re doing. Then we’re all going to Syd’s house for dinner.

“Can we go nowwww!” Louis whined. I laughed.

“We have to wait for Syd to get here with the van!” just then, she pulled in.

“YES!”

“By mom, we’ll meet you at Syd’s.” I kissed her cheek and then followed Lou out the door. We climbed into the van, everyone else already being in there. Once everyone was all buckled, we drove to the MRC (Mid-cost Recreational Center)

“WOOO!” the boys all cheered when we got there. We laughed. We went in a paid, then got our skates on. 

“Wow this place has everything.” we laughed. 

“Come on.” we went out on the ice, us being the only ones there. We skated around for a little bit, then some people came in. They didn’t recognize us so it was ok. 

After about an hour of skating, we got of and took a break, and got some food. 

When we were finished eating, we went back out. 

I was skating around holding hands with Louis. I slipped a bit, but Louis caught me. 

“That could’ve been disastrous.” I said laughing. I looked around finding Syd and Niall sitting on the ice laughing. I guess they had fallen over.

We skated around until the rink was closed, then we took off our skates. We walked out to the parking lot, all just talking and laughing. 

A car came speeding through not paying any attention.

“LOOK OUT!” Syd screamed jumping out of the way. Louis pulled me out of the way. We all ended up in a pile on the ground. I looked around to see if everyone was ok. Harry was bent over Darrian.

“Come on Darrian.” Harry said. She wasn’t moving. 

“Don’t move her.” Syd said.

“What?” we all looked at her.

“I watch a lot of tv.” Liam ran in to ask the people to call 911. About 10 minutes later, some EMT guys came and put her on the stretcher thing. I buried my head into Lou’s chest not being able to watch. Harry climbed into the ambulance with her. Syd called her mom knowing that everyone was at her house. We all climbed into the van and drove to the hospital. 

(Harry’s P.O.V.) 

The stretcher zoomed by as I waited in the lobby. 

“Harry,” Paige said trying to be comforting. I didn’t say anything.

“Come on mate, she’s gonna be okay.”

“She got hit by a car Lou.” We all sat in the waiting room. Darrian’s mom ran in.

“How is she?”

“She’s in surgery......” she sighed.

“She’ll be okay Joy.” Syd said to her.

“How’s Darcy?” I asked.

“She’s with your parents.” she said pointing towards Syd. 

We waited for what seemed like hours. Then the doctor finally came out. I stood up.

“Well, we had to do some major surgery. One of her longs collapsed and she has several fractures in her ribs, as well as a broken foot. She’s also in a coma at the moment.”
