"When we traveled that week, I threw caution to the wind and asked her to be my girlfriend,"
Hours of climbing on the mountain took a great toll on Kongpob's energy but it was alleviated hearing Samorn's sweet laughter beside him... like what he'd started feeling these past few months- every time Kongpob would feel sad and lonely or whenever he'd feel the energy was slowly sucking out of him because of working too much, he would always find himself calling Samorn seeking comfort because her voice eased him.
Samorn and Kongpob were both panting when they reached the top of the mountain, it was exhilarating but it was all worth it because the scene that welcomed them was breathtaking- the sun gives off beautiful hues of perfectly blended colors of orange and red.
"Kong, you must see this. This is so beautiful."
Kongpob smiled and responded with, "You're right..." But nothing can be more beautiful than you look right now.
Kongpob fiddled with the box in his pocket, he was skeptic earlier of the decision he's going to make and whether or not it's the combination of the time and the place or the way the hues of the sunset made Samorn's wavy hair more radiant with the lights hitting her face on the right angles making her beauty more prominent, one look at Samorn's beautiful smile assured Kongpob he wouldn't regret this.
"I'm so exhausted but you know, this is so worth it."
"It is babe."
Samorn's smile dropped off her face, she slowly turned to look at Kongpob. "What did you call me?"
"W-what? I meant... Sam."
Samorn looked like she was about to say something but then she shook her head and turned her head away from him... but when looked at him again, Kongpob's already on his knees.
Kongpob reached out to hold Samorn's hand, "Sam, I can't pretend anymore that what I've been feeling for you these past few months is all platonic, I like you more than a friend so will you please be my girlfriend?"
Samorn covered her face and began crying, "Yes Kong, yes! I have been waiting for this for a long time."
Kongpob's bright smile appeared on his face, he stood up and softly took Samorn's hands away from her face, kissing her tears away, "Don't cover your face, babe."
"I-i look ugly."
"Are you kidding me? You've never been beautiful for me than you are right now."
Samorn cupped Kongpob's cheeks and slowly leaned forward to give him a soft kiss, "I love you, Kong."
Kongpob could only smile in return as he put the bracelet he got for Samorn. "It fits perfectly."
Arthit smiles at Kongpob who has a fond smile on his face as he tries not to remember that time when he and Kongpob had tried hiking as well.
Arthit sat down on one of the rocks, groaning as he started massaging his feet. This was one of the many reasons why he didn't like hiking, it's tiring, that and he didn't like the idea of being 2000m above ground, it didn't sound appealing to his churning stomach but Kongpob loved it so he just went with the younger.
Kongpob kneeled in front of Arthit and helped him with his feet, "Are you alright? Should we stop?"
"No, are you crazy? We're almost there. You told me you wanted to see the sunset at the top of the mountain so we will, I'm just going to rest for a while," Arthit groaned when Kongpob hit a particular aching spot. When he looked up to admonish the younger, he found him smiling fondly, Arthit frowned, "What? What are you smiling at?"
