Due to Samorn's incessant to meet all her fiancée's acquaintance, currently, they are all seated at the restaurant taking up a large space by the corner. It's not a fancy restaurant, for its affordable price it isn't, but the quaint chandelier just above Arthit's head suggests otherwise.
From an outside perspective, with 3 women and 3 men, Irish jested they can be those characters from a popular American sitcom but Arthit's sure their personalities don't suit any of those characters' personalities.
But still, it is rather entertaining to see 'two homosexual couples with a heterosexual couple' as Irish has amusingly put it, eating together. Arthit doesn't know who's the other homosexual couple but he's sure it's not him and Sed. No matter how he tries to see it, Sed will always be an older brother for him, like Knot. Arthit groans mentally. He misses Knot, that big soft guy.
When he left, he didn't tell any of his best friends, afraid they're going to spill to the younger where he's escaped to, thus, he also cut off their connection with them- one of his many regrets, when he left, was to endure the pain of being away from them- He wonders what they're up to now, what they've become in the past 6 years. He was too caught up on his own drama he forgot to ask Kongpob about his own friends.
Arthit has pulled away from his thoughts when he realizes everyone is staring at him.
"Yes?" Arthit blinks.
"How about you Oon? What can you tell about Kong?" Samorn asks, a usual bright smile etched on her face.
Also, that.
Aside from entertaining, this night has also been... strained if Arthit was to put it lightly. With Samorn with her cheerful voice asking questions about Kongpob, who's oddly quiet and just staring at the space between Arthit and Sed, to the awkward people around her without getting no response.
Arthit wants to talk to her and engage a conversation with her but he feels guilty that he's lying to her, and, her question is something Arthit doesn't have an appropriate answer to.
Like when she asked, what Kongpob has been up to, everyone looks at Arthit but he only shrugs.
Arthit can't just say, 'Your fiancée and I almost kissed... twice, yeah, that's what he's doing here. By the way, I'm his ex.'
"Kongpob is..." Arthit starts and clears his throat. "He's nice to us and friendly."
"Too friendly," Faye whispers. Arthit elbows her.
"Oon, didn't you tell me you're not close to Kong? Why are they saying I should be asking you?"
"By not close, I meant not close to being even mentioned during phone calls."
Arthit sighs in relief when the food they ordered arrive cutting off Samorn's hot seat questions. Arthit turns his head away from Samorn and Kongpob, but on his left is Sed with a smitten look, and on his right is Irish pointedly looking at him, obviously judging him because he's not telling the truth. Faye has a teasing smile.
Arthit opts to bow his head down. Since when eating becomes this uncomfortable?
As soon as his plate is set down in front of him before Arthit even gets the chance to touch it, it's pulled away from him. Looking up, he sees his ex meticulously removing all the green peas from his food.
"Kongpob, what are you doing?"
"You don't eat green peas, right P'? I'll eat them for you."
Both Faye and Sed smile in mirth. Irish looks conflicted. Samorn is apprehensive.
