Live Life Like a King

After the "Battle of the Lion Guards," Kion walked down to his retired "Lion Guard."

"So, what's next?" asked Bunga as he goes up to Kion.

"Well since we're going back, Rani should be notified as soon as possible that I'm accepting her proposal." Kion looks over at his parents. "I also have to tell my parents about this."

Ono looked at him with a confused look. "I have a few questions. Did Rani actually propose to you? How are we supposed to tell her in such short notice? And how are we going to get the Pridelanders to the Tree?"

Kion took a second to think then said, "For the first question Ono, yes she did propose to me to become king."

He then took another few seconds to think. "Hey Fuli, you think you and Azaad could go to the Tree and tell Queen Rani that we're coming back?"

Fuli smiled. "Sure! Come on Azaad." The two cheetahs then ran out into the distance.

"Now I'm going to talk to my parents and probably we could figure something out for the Pridelanders. You guys should get some rest. We're leaving tomorrow."

"Ok take as long as you need," Beshte said.

Later that day, Kion asked his parents and Kiara if they could talk.

Kiara spoke, "Sure what is it?"

Kion said, "This is kind of hard to say but-" Kion took a breath before continuing. "I decided to go back to the Tree of Life."

"Why?" Nala questioned.

"The queen of the Tree of Life asked me if the guard and I could stay there and me becoming the new king."

"Are you talking about that lioness you told me about the other night? Rani was it?" Kiara told his brother.

"Uh, yeah."

Then, Pride Rock became completely silent. Simba stood up and walked toward his son.

Simba then said four words that would soon change Kion's life: "Go for it son."

Kion's mouth dropped but in a "happy" way. Kion nuzzled Simba and Nala for their approval. Kiara, out of nowhere, pinned Kion to the ground and spoke, "Looks like little ol' Kion is becoming a King." Kiara teased him playfully which made Kion laugh.

The next morning, Rafiki called all the Pridelanders up to Pride Rock. He then yelled, "Pridelanders! Due to Kion's loss of redeeming his role as leader of the Lion Guard here in the Pridelands, he and his guard decided to start their new role in the Circle of Life at the Tree of Life. That is where Kion, prince of the Pridelands, becomes king of the Tree of Life!"

All the animals cheered about the announcement.

Kion walked down to his guard.

"You think Fuli and Azaad made it to the Tree yet?" Bunga wondered.

"Probably," Anga answered.

"Hey Kion, where are Simba, Nala, and Kiara? I thought they were going to be in front with us leading everyone." Beshte also wondered.

"They're coming. Kovu, Tiifu and Zuri too."

"Don't forget us!" spoke a familiar voice.

It was Timon and Pumbaa. "Oh, Kion I am so proud of you!" Pumbaa burst out.

"Yes! My baby's baby is becoming a king." Timon added.

Simba walked up into their conversation. "You all ready?"
