"So the next time!" I banged the receptionist's head on the table. "You try to snitch on me! Just remember to tell your kids you love them, you hear me?!" I said angrily. He nodded with a bleeding nose.
"You're lucky I didn't kill you," I chuckled evilly. "I wanted to save the last of my bullets for someone else," I scoffed and walked away. I've probably been torturing this guy for the past hour. Kind of feel bad but don't.
I walked through the door with my hood on and my bag of all my essentials in my hand. Caroline's house is not far from here. She's the ex mafia friend of mine.
She left the mafia a year ago to protect her family, but unfortunately they all ended up in the grave. You need to learn your lesson, never tell anyone who your family is, or who you love when it comes to mafia business. Or, you'd end up like Caroline and dad.
For the next thirty minutes I started contemplating wether or not I should go to Caroline uninvited. I mean she's alone and would like some company, and she offered me to come over if I needed anything, so I'm guessing I need it now. I mean look at me, I'm in a crisis.
Before I knew it, I was already there at her doorstep. My hand hesitantly knocked on the door as I fixed my hair and clothes.
The door opened and stood in front of me was Caroline. Eye bags under her big full blue eyes. Face looked beat red from crying a lot. A cigarette and a bottle of wine in her hand as she stood helplessly in front of me.
"R-Rosé? Hi," she chuckled, greeting me. "I'm really sorry I'm here uninvited, but I'm in a crisis-"
"I understand, now come in before you get caught," she pulled me in."Thank you," I hugged her tightly. She was caught off guard, but she eventually hugged me back. "I need help C," I let go of the hug and placed my bag on the couch.
"What's wrong," she sniffled. I explained to her everything. When I say everything, I mean. . . everything.
I told her from when we were at the mission with the black spades and how Grayson took me to the hospital. To when The Dallas brothers kidnapped Grayson and I and told me the whole truth.
I was speaking for about over an hour, and when I finally finished, her jaw was nearly on the floor. "He thinks you're dead?" She asked and I nodded.
"Well I mean, I knew the fact Grayson killed your dad but- why do I feel like you're in an action movie?" She said in disbelief.
"But what I need help with right now is I need to find Carter's address," I fiddled with my fingers. "He lives in New York, so you'd need to take a plane to get there," Caroline stated.
"But I'm wanted Caroline, I'd get caught!" I huffed. "Fine then we'll drive," she stood up walking around the room. "Oh thank god that's one of the choices, how long is the ride?" I asked excitedly.
"You sure?" She asked cringing, making me nod hesitantly. "Thirty-seven hours," she chuckled. "On a good day. . ." She trailed off. "What?!" My jaw dropped.
"How do you know?" I scoffed. "I did it before," she face palmed. "Thirty seven hour drive?!" I asked in disbelief. "I had to or I would've died," she shrugged and I furrowed my eyebrows.
"I was in a mission and the only way I could do it was in a car," she said it as if it was obvious. "If you need to get there, I'll drive you," Caroline smiled kindly.
