"Dad?" I walked into the kitchen with a glass cup in my hand. He hummed in response, signaling that I should keep talking.

"Is it true that mom isn't going to be home till next Monday?" I tilted my head to the side. "Yes honey, she's in Tokyo with her co-workers. They might even be here later than Monday," he shrugged.

I nodded my head sadly and made my way to my room, until I saw something on the floor. It was an envelope. I picked it up and took the paper out of it.
I started reading:

So, I found where you live...finally. If it wasn't for your idiotic daughter being my son's best friend, I wouldn't have known where you lived...

I stopped reading as I furrowed my eyebrows at this unusual note. I walked to my dad for the second time this hour and gave it to him.

"What's this?" He asked. His lips moved as he read the letter, his eyes widening at every word.

"What's wrong?" He ignored me and looked around the house. "Dad?" I said one more time. "Sweetie, I need you to get down," his panicked face and voice worried me. "Just tell me what's going on-"

BOOM!

A very loud sound echoed through the walls of my house as all the glass windows shattered into a million pieces. "GET DOWN!" My father exclaimed taking a gun out of his back pocket.

I ran to my room and locked it, the sound of gunshots still echoed through the house. "God help us please," I cried. I went close to my closet clasping my hands together, praying for dear life.

All of a sudden, the sound of the guns stopped. It became dead silent, my own breath could be heard. "Where is she!" A masculine voice said clearly frustrated.

"Dolan. Go check her room and I'll check the office. Go!"

I heard a loud bang coming from outside my bedroom door. My heart was beating out of my chest when the door started breaking.

Eventually, the door broke open and a tall figure looked around the room. His eyes were a shade of green and brown, his muscular arms could be seen through his shirt. He looked very intriguing yet intimidating.

When he saw me, he clenched his fists and jaw. He walked closer to me but stopped, making me gulp the lump in my throat.

He walked to my window and opened it very quietly and slowly. "She's not here boss, she left from through the window!" The built man said very loudly, I flinched.

He dragged me behind my door and told me to hide there. "Seriously! She couldn't have gotten far. You know what forget it. Steal whatever you can from here then we can leave before the cops arrive," a very accented voice said.

I was shaking uncontrollably, I could lose my life any second now. "Take whatever's in her room so we can leave," the same guy said and the man in my room nodded.

He closed the door and started taking whatever he saw, from jewelry to clothing items. "You're lucky I didn't say you were here. Or even better, you're lucky I didn't kill you." He said intimidatingly.

He glanced at me one more time with anger then left my room. I heard my front door close which meant they had left.
