Part 19

Astrid's PoV

"A little more push, Mija, you'll be able to beat ypur brother's record." Abuelo say, patting my shoulder. "Take a rest, we'll be attending a meeting later this afternoon."

Abuelo went inside the house along with Axcel. I fell on the ground, feeling the exhaustion and the muscle aches. My heart is pounding and sweat roll down my face.

After a few minutes, once my chest finally has its normal beating I go back inside and run to my room to take a shower, rinsing off the dirt and mud from my nails, hair and every part of my skin. I get dressed and head downstairs to eat.
While eating alone, I took out my phone to see if I get any messages from anyone. I remember Hiccup is supposed to call me yesterday but I wasn't able to look at my phone because of Sian.

When I turn on my phone, a notification pops up on my screen saying I have 10 missed called from Hiccup, two from Aciel, Four from Mom, and one from Dad.

Wow, I didn't know I got so many missed calls in just a day.

I decided to message them one by one, sending my apology from not able to answer their calls.

Suddenly, my phone rings, and Hiccup's face is on the screen.

I quickly answer the call, and the voice of Hiccup's voice came booming through the speakers, I think my hearing broke.

"Hiccup, calm down, you almost made me deaf." I say, lightly shaking my ear.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to, I was just worried because you didn't answer any of my calls last night." He say.

"Yeah, sorry about that." I say. "I got busy here in Abuelo's, and I have to look after Axcel."

"It's fine, as long as you and your brother are alright." He say.

Hiccup and I talk on the phone for a few minutes, we talked about what I missed in school and promised to lend me his notes later. We're having fun talking when another call suddenly comes in. I look at the caller's name to see my Dad.

"Hiccup I have to hung up now, my Dad's calling." I say and quickly hung up Hiccup's call and answer Dad's.

"Hello?" I say.

"Astrid, how are you and Axcel doing?" Dad ask.

"Good morning Dad, we're fine." I say. "Axcel's with Abuelo right now."

"I see." He say. "You two be careful alright? We won't be able to stop by anytime now, we're busy here in the office."

"I understand." I say.

"Take care alright? We can't risk anything to happened to you and your brother." Dad say, his voice so sincere this time.

I nod my head, even though Dad can't see me. "We will Dad. See you soon."

The call hang up. I finish eating ang went to look for Abuelo and Axcel. I found them st the garden, Abuelo is talking to Axcel about some stuff.
I'm about to come over and join them when I hear Abuelo talking about me to Axcel.

"Your sister, she's very talented," he say. "She never fails to impress me every time she's given a task, and she never fails to prove herself as a True Alpha, she will soon take over us, and I want her to learn on her own, the ways of a True Alpha, before I leave this world."

Abuelo's words somehow touched my heart. He's not very open to me about what he thinks about me, and would usually compare me to Aciel, but every time he does, it always motivates me to do better, I never think of Abuelo's words as insults, though sometimes it pisses me off without telling or showing him.
