Part 15

Astrid's PoV

I woke up in shock, sat up as cold sweat roll down from my forehead.
It's all a dream. I touched my chest, feeling my fast paced heartbeat.

I heaved a sigh, "All is well, all is well." I repeatedly chanted.

Beside me, quietly sleeping is my little brother. I look at the clock on my study table, it's already 11:45 PM, I wonder if Mom and Dad are home.
I carefully got up, careful not to wake up Axcel and snuck out of my room down the dark corridor. The lights in the first floor are still on, the maids must've forgotten to turn the lights off.

Beep-beep!

I took out my phone from my pocket and look at the notification I got.

1 unread message from: Hiccup

The kiss scene from earlier suddenly flashed through my mind when I read his name. Shoot, why does it have to happen??
I set the thought aside and opened the message he sent me.

Hiccup
Hey Astrid, you awake?

Me: Yeah, what's up?

Hiccup
Nothing, I just missed you.

He said what?!

I look at the message he just sent. What does this have to mean?
It took me two minutes before I could type a reply, I don't know what to say.

Me: Me too. Lol.

I facepalm. Shoot, my heartbeat is so fast.

Hiccup
Why are you still awake?

Me: Woke up from a dream.

Hiccup
I hope I'm in that dream of yours.

I could feel my cheeks heat up. What's up with him that he's being cheesy like this? Is he drunk?

Me: Lol. Are you half asleep or something?

Hiccup
Nope. I'm wide awake, brain still working :)

Me: Or you didn't ate dinner?

Hiccup
I ate two chicken fillet with gravy and rice, two slices of pizza and a glass of soda, I even ate a bag of chips while watching two episodes of a Korean Drama Elsa recommended me.

Me: Wow that's a lot. What drama?

Hiccup
Hotel Del Luna or something like that.

Me: Cool, I'll try watching it when I find time.

Hiccup
Cool, we can watch it together sometime.

Me: That sounds fun. Looking forward to it.

I'm hungry. This chitchat had me starving. I went downstairs to the kitchen to find something to fill in my stomach.

Hiccup
You're not sleeping, yet?

Me: Nope. I'm looking for something tasty in the kitchen. Lol.
