Chapter 8: Avatar Roku

"It's on an island in the fire nation."

Their expressions visibly dropped.

"But the fire nation won't let us in what are we supposed to do? Go and say 'oh great and mighty fire lord, may we go enter your lands to speak to the previous avatar who can help us win the war?" Sokka spat out sarcastically.

Aang stepped forward, "Me and Y/n will take Appa to fly into the fire nation. I'd like for none of you to get involved but seeing that Y/n is the avatar she has to go."

Katara gave us a very stern expression, "No way are you two going into the fire nation and possibly getting locked up by a bunch of fire nation soldiers... At least not without us!"

Sokka and Katara hopped on Appa. I smiled at them, "I'm so glad you guys are here to help." They just smiled back.

We got some supplies from the villagers and set off on our way.

A few hours later

"Guys! We're entering fire nation territory, we're almost there." Me, Sokka, and Katara peeked over Aang's shoulders to see.

Me and Katara were awestruck at how beautiful the ocean looked unlike Sokka who was looking at something else, "Uhh guys we have two problems. One, we have Zuko after us. And two... that."

Our eyes widened in shock. "A blockade."

Soon enough, they started shooting fire balls at us. Sokka nearly fell off Appa! It was when we caught him that me and Aang both decided to go deal with the ships.

Aang flew over while I used the water to push me forwards. Aang was taking out the catapults while I was fighting the people on board.

When we finally cleared the way, Aang motioned to grab onto him and he flew us up back onto Appa.

"Guys, I see it!" Aang pointed to the island I had described to them.

"We'd better hurry, the sun is setting."

After dodging a few fire blasts we had made it to the island. Appa was hidden somewhere he could wait for us when we were inside.

Not wanting to waste any time, we ran towards the temple on the island. But when we got there something wasn't right, we heard footsteps behind us.

We all turned around to see five fire nation sages standing there. "We are the protectors of the avatar, so I'm afraid you must leave."

"Well I am the avatar." I walked towards them.

"You abandoned us for a century. We were loyal to avatar Roku. But not you." One of them started walking towards us.

"Run." Was all I had to say for all of us to start running.

Aang was ahead of us leading the way. "This way!" We all followed him only to be met with a fire sage. "Never mind!" We turned back around and continued running.

"Wait! I'm here to help." We ignored the sage and kept running, only to find ourselves at a dead end.

"I'm on your side." He got down on his hands and knees, "I'm here to serve you, avatar Y/n."

Sokka took out his boomerang, "We can't trust him!"

"Please, I understand that you want to speak to avatar Roku. I can bring you there."

"Sokka I really need to speak to Roku, this might be the only chance." I glanced at the man.

Sokka sighed knowing he wouldn't be able to convince me otherwise.
