"Wohoo! We have flying class!" Sirius exclaimed, and me, him and James started jumping around, until we bumped into people, which caused us to fall. The group we bumped into were first-year Slytherins. Lucius Malfoy, Severus Snape, Naya Parkinson, Emma Bulstrode, and Rabastan Lestrange.
"You don't need to act like 3-year-olds just because you got into Hogwarts," Naya said snobbishly as Lucius helped me get up, and Remus and Peter helped James and Sirius.
"As a matter of fact, we weren't happy because we 'got into Hogwarts'," I replied bitterly. "And it's none of your business,"
"Naya let's go. We don't want to be late for flying class," Severus Snape said as he began walking away.
"Flying class? Right now? Why do we have to have it with you guys," James groaned.
"Yeah, we don't want grease marks all over the brooms," Sirius remarked.
"Who are you talking about?" Lucius said grabbing his wand out of his robes.
"Snivelly of course," Sirius answered back, making James laugh. I frowned. Severus took out his own wand and slowly walked towards Sirius.
"Please, don't come close to me, I don't want your greasy hair anywhere near me," Sirius fake whined.
"Sirius that's enough," Remus said noticing Lucius and Severus's faces.
"What's going on here?" Nicolas asked frowning. "Put your wands away and go to your lessons before I take any points from any of you," The Slytherins left without saying another word, but we stayed behind.
"You wouldn't take any points away from your own house, would you?" I said smirking.
"I would if its necessary," Nicolas replied smiling. "But you guys are late. You really gotta go to your lesson. Goodbye,"
We went to the Quidditch pitch, where Madam Hooch was waiting impatiently for us.
"Nice of you to join us," she said, hands on her hips. "Each of you stand beside a broom," We went and stood beside the empty spaces, and then she started talking about how dangerous it can be to fly, and how you have to be careful. Me, Sirius, James, Lucius, Severus, and about two other people were the only ones who got on our brooms, went up in the air, and came back down perfectly.
"Perfect! Five points each!" Madam Hooch told us happily. We finished the flying lesson and then went to put the brooms into the cupboard.
"Why can't we play games?" James said, annoyed.
"Exactly. I'd fancy a game right here and now," I answered as I was putting away my broom.
"Maybe we can," Sirius said from the door. "We have a break now, and no one's in the Quidditch pitch. We might as well play a mini-game,"
I smirked. "Okay, let's do it!" I said getting a broom. Me, Sirius, and James raced out onto the pitch, with Remus and Peter right behind us.
"I don't think this is a good idea," Remus said worriedly.
"C'mon Rem, If we get into trouble, which we won't I'll take the blame," I told him reassuringly. He still didn't think it was a good idea, but he didn't say anything else.
"I don't want to play. I don't know how to ride a broom anyways," Peter said in a low voice as we got to the pitch.
"Alright. Then you can be the referee, alright?" James told Peter, who nodded.
James mounted his broom and went up in the air. "Woah, look!" he said pointing at a pile of stuff on the floor.
We all looked at where James was pointing and saw 2 beater bats and a chest. I went to it and opened it, finding a golden snitch, 2 bludgers, and a quaffle.
"Wicked," I whispered.
"Let's use them," announced Sirius, picking up a beater's bat. James took the snitch out, and let it fly, and I took the quaffle, and throw it from hand to hand.
"What about those?" Peter squeaked, pointing at the bludgers. "They're moving!"
Peter went and hid behind my back.
"Why not use one," I said smirking, with Sirius and James agreeing with me.
"So we can't really play in teams, but this is how we can do it. James can go looking for the snitch, Sirius can hit the bludger and, I don't know, practice his aim or something, I can try getting the quaffle in the rings, and Remus can either hit the bludger with Sirius or join me with the quaffle," I told everyone. "And Peter can be the referee," rings
"Are you saying I don't have good aim?" Sirius said sarcastically. "My aim is amazing,"
"Of course it is. You're the best beater out there," I said just as sarcastic.
"I think I'll help you with the quaffle," Rem said.
"Okay. Sirius, be careful with the bludgers. Now let's play!" I said, before noticing James already in the sky looking for the snitch. I smiled, and I and Remus went up with our brooms. We passed the quaffle a few times before I turned to a ring. I aimed, and I throw the quaffle. It went nicely into the ring.
"Good job!" Rem said high-fiving me. "And you're quite far away from it, too,"
"Thank you. Now it's your turn," I told him.
"No, it's okay. You should practice. You want to be on the team, not me,"
"Are you sure?" I asked, and he nodded. "Okay,"
We played for another 30 minutes until Professor McGonagall came.
"All five of you, come with me," She said, a stern look on her face. We all looked at each other, scared, and followed her. Where was she taking us? Detention. She'll take away house points. She'll send us home. It's only our first day, and we're probably going to get expelled.
We went to her office. She sat down behind her desk and told us to take a seat.
"First of all, I just want to make things clear. You went on the pitch and played with equipment that you found, and is not yours. You flew without an adult or Professor with you, which can be dangerous. Anyone one of you could have hurt yourselves. I am not happy. 10 points from Gryffindor," she said, the same stern look on her face. "Mr. Black, Mr. Lupin, and Mr. Pettigrew. Go to your common room. These two will follow you. Oh yes, and while you're there, can you please call Nicolas Bell for me please. Tell him to come to my office,"
Once Sirius, Remus, and Peter left, she turned to me and James.
"As I said from before, I am not happy about what you guys did. But I have to be honest. You two are spectacular at Quidditch. I've been watching you, and how you caught the snitch was amazing, Mr. Potter. And Ms. Hill, your throws are nothing like I've ever seen,"
There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Professor McGonagall said, and Nicolas Bell came in.
"Hello Professor. You wanted me?" he said smiling.
"Yes. Mr. Bell, these two first-years are what we need for your team,"
He turned to us, still smiling.
"You mean Quidditch?" he asked.
"Yes. I watched them play. Ms. Hill is an amazing chaser and can throw the Quaffle and get it in a ring from the other side of the pitch. And Mr. Potter is a superb seeker, flying perfectly and catching the snitch quickly,"
The three of us were surprised. Professor McGonagall wanted us on the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"Of course," Nicolas said, and then turned to us. "I suggest you bring your own brooms since the school ones aren't really the best,"
"We can get our own brooms?" James said, his eyes wide.
"Yes. We need to be the strongest so we can win the cup," Professor McGonagall said.
"Thank you so much," I exclaimed, grinning.
McGonagall smiled. "Now go back to your common room. If you already have a broom at home, then perfect. If you don't then I can help you order one,"
When we finished me, James and Nicolas went back to the common room to break the news to everyone.
