Zayn's POV
'Cause your my friend' that sentence is the only thing I'm thinking of on the way back to the flat. That moment keeps replaying in my head, the way she said it with her adorable American accent, the way she smiled at me not knowing what it really meant to me, not knowing that I want to be more than friends even if I've only known her for a couple of days.
When I get to the flat the lads immediately notice my change of mood.
"What's wrong Zayn?" Liam asks.
"Nothing...nothing's wrong." I reply, not really making an effort to sound convincing. I just keep walking and go to my room without another word.
Moments later someone knocks on my door. "Come in."
The door opens and Harry comes in with a worried expression on his face.
"You ok mate?"
"She told me we're just friends."
He immediately realizes what I'm talking about. "Did she actually say it that way?"
"No, but she meant it."
"Zayn I can see that you like her a lot, even though you haven't known her for long, but she looks like she doesn't let people in easily, she just needs time." he says giving me a reassuring smile which I return. Harry is very observant he can read almost anyone if he watches them long enough.
"Thanks mate."
"I try." he says standing up. "Come on let's go play FIFA."
"You're on."
Diana's POV
We're just friends and it's gonna stay that way. He's not giving up until he becomes a close friend and I'm glad he's not, as long as we're just friends, even if we become close friends but. Even if I did want to be more than friends he definitely doesn't have those feelings for me, nor would he want to be with a girl like me.
Laela isn't home as I expected and I'm hungry so I make my 'famous' peanut butter banana honey sandwich, pbh sandwich for short.
After I finish eating I listen to music while sketching until Laela comes back.
"Hey Dese!" She says when she enters the room, looking extra happy. That's always the way she looks after meeting new people. "Hey, Make any friends?"
I see that look in her eye and I know this gonna take a loooong time.
She tells me all about her day, the college, the classes she's gonna take, and mostly all the people she met. She's a very social person. We have a lot of things in common but when it comes to socializing I'm the exact opposite of her.
"Man, the people there are awesome, I made lots of friends already, me and this girl get along really great, I'm sure we're gonna be close friends."
"I'm sure everyone loved you, just make sure that girl doesn't replace me." I joke.
"I don't know, there's a big possibility she might." she jokes along.
I laugh, "What's her name anyway?"
"Ariana, but don't worry no one could actually ever replace you donut."
"Nobody could ever take your place either lollipop." I reply, smirking.

"Hey my battery's dead, I'm using your phone k!" Laela calls from our room as I get something to drink from the fridge.
"Sure!" I yell back.
I start to pour apple juice into my cup but I lose control and my I spill some because of what Laela says next. "Hey who's Z?" she questions walking into the kitchen.
