Untitled Part 22

"Half an hour has passed " Shin sighed. "Where is Aichi-kun and Miwa-kun? "

Shin, Misaki, Mai, Emi, Kamui, Reiji, Eiji and Kai were waiting outside the bus for Miwa and Aichi to come. They were late, and everybody was worrying.

"They were supposed to be here... " Kamui said.

They were ready to start searching for them, when they heard Aichi's voice.

"Guys!! Sorry I'm late! "

They turned around and saw Aichi running towards them, alone. Miwa was nowhere.

"Aichi! "Emi shouted happily.

"Onii-san, where is Miwa? "

"Yeah "Misaki supported Kamui "wasn't he with you? "

Aichi stopped in front of them puffed.

"He was... but someone called him when we were inside the haunted house, and he said he had to leave. "

"Why didn't he tell us? " Shin asked.

"He was in a hurry "

They looked at each other. Kai was worrying most of all.

Could he have done something to Miwa?

"If Aichi-kun says so, I think we should go back. We will meet Miwa-kun at home and he will tell us what happened. Let's go! "

"Ok, Shin-senpai! "

The bus door opened and the kids went inside. After Kai sat on his seat, Aichi came next to him.

"Kai-kun! Now that Miwa-kun isn't here, I will seat with you! "

"Ah... "

Before he could react, Aichi sat next to him smiley. The bus started moving and they left the amusement park slowly behind. In their way, Kai was thinking about things all the time.

If Aichi did something to Miwa... Miwa would have told me if he had to go somewhere. He is indeed an idiot, but he would know that I would think that Aichi did something.

He looked at Aichi, who was talking with Kamui in the front seat.

Is he really a bad person, or is it just our thoughts? He attacked Ren, but he thought he was a criminal. He reacted normally. He really is annoying, but there is no way he would hurt Miwa... he is his friend.

He woke from his thoughts when his phone rang. He looked at the number, which he didn't recognize. He picked it up.

"Yes? " He said

"Kai! It's Asaka! "

Where did she find my phone number?

"Did something happen to Ren? "

"No, he's fine, it's just... he wants to say something to you. "

Kai heard Asaka giving the phone to someone else, he knew it was Ren. He understood that the red-haired boy could hardly talk.

"Ka... i... "

"Ren? Are you ok? "

"Mi... wa... "

Miwa?

"What? "

"Ai... chi... knew... it... was... me... "

Kai froze.

"Mi... wa... is... in... dan... ger... Maybe... Aichi... will... hurt... him... "

Ren's voice was whispered. Kai noticed Aichi was staring at him.

"Is anything wrong, Kai-kun? "

What did he do to Miwa?!

Kai hung up the phone, stood up and shouted to the bus driver.

"STOP THE BUS NOW! "

The driver didn't react, but the eyes of everyone were on Kai. He didn't care.

"Kai, what happened? " Misaki asked.

Kai ignored her and shouted to the driver again.

"STOP THE BUS YOU IDIOT!!! "

Then, the driver stopped the bus and he looked at Kai.

"What!? "

"Open the damn door! " Kai demanded.

The bus's doors opened and Kai started running towards the amusement park. It was quite far and he was tired, but he couldn't stop running.

MIWA! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?

It took him 15 minutes when he finally arrived at the amusement park. He started looking everywhere, when he noticed an ambulance outside the haunted house Miwa and Aichi were before. He approached the place shivering.

"Did something happen here? " He asked a doctor outside the ambulance.

"Yes kid, and it's better for you to stay away... a young boy was found here stabbed. We need to take him to the hospital before he dies from blood loss. Oh, there he is... stay back. "

Kai made some steps behind and he saw doctors coming out from the haunted house with somebody on the stretcher. He took a closer look and he felt his eyes in tears, his heart hurting and his mouth ready to scream. His best friend, Taishi Miwa, was the one on the stretcher, with his abdomen painted in red.
