Chapter 3 - Masquerade (Part 1)

We reached my room but, beige I went in the servant spoke to me. "I know you saw us kiss. Nik and I have something special" she said. "What's your name?" I asked. "Katrina" she said. "Well Katrina, Nik is the son of a king, the only thing he wants is you in bed like any other woman" her expression turned angered, as mine showed sympathy. I turned the handle and went inside as she tried to speak.

My room looked the same except for a beautiful black dress that showed off curves. The neck was jeweled it was absolutely gorgeous. It had a slit that showed a piece of my chest. It was stunning and now to find a mask that doesn't make me look like a serial killer. I rummaged through the chest of masks. I found a nice on that was lacy and covered my forehead to my cheeks, it was black with the eyes jeweled with golden crystals.

Cedany and Rose came inside. They already wore their dresses, Rose had a Red ball gown with a deep v-neck that had black lace outstretching on the fabric. Cedany also had a ball gown it was a white with silver lace. Both were stunning. "Masks?" I asked. "Yep" said Cedany. Rise rushed over to my dress. "This is," she paused "absolutely gorgeous" I laughed. "Honestly, it's beautiful" she said in awe. "Get your masks, I must get dressed" I said grabbing the dress and taking it to a corner to dress.

"I like this one" said Cedany holding a feathery dove mask. "Perfect" said Rose holding a Red lace mask that covered most of her face like mine. I came out from the corner and showed them the dress. "Beautiful" said my sisters in unison. I laughed as I placed my mask on.

Time to go...

The double doors opened up exposing the ball room that was filled with girls in ball gowns and men in their fancy suits and coats. Music played as people danced, I spotted Sage dancing with a man she didn't look too happy of it. Everyone was chatting and eating. My sisters headed in and enjoyed the food and music I stayed by the wall with a glass of wine. I didn't like parties, and apparently I was not alone. Nik had joined me at the back wall with his glass of wine.

I smirked and let out a chuckle "what's so funny?" He asked sipping on his wine and looking at the people. I stared at the dancing couples "the fact that you of all people aren't wooing every girl here, they're all staring" I said sipping on my wine "I'm not interested in those girls, they don't provide a challenge" he said smiling. I laughed "you care about a challenge, I would of thought your only thought I'd how wide their legs open" I said laughingly. He joined in my laughter.

"What about that dance?" He asked. "What dance?" I replied sipping again in my wine. "You know what dance" he said smirking. I was about to speak when the King's booming voice illuminated everyone's ears. "Welcome all, tonight we dance and laugh for our guest Prince Serpentine" he said. Everyone clapped as they looked at him. It was the man dancing with Sage. Poor girl. "Sage hates the guy, now if you thought I was cocky. You obviously haven't met Serpentine" he said still smirking. I laughed. "Obviously" I said. We both let out a chuckle.

I looked for my sisters, Cedany was dancing with Sage's other brother the prince, Gabriel. Nik saw where I was looking at and said "it looks like my brother has taken a liking to your sister" he said finishing his wine. "If he's anything like you, she should be slapping him in the next minute or so" I said laugh in and also finishing my wine. We laughed in unison, even though I insulted him.
