chapter 2

(test 1)

POV Sayla

(August 21st)
      After practice I walk with Carson inside he gives me a quick kiss and then runs to raider practice. I laugh at him as he sends me a wink running out the door. I walk to the color guard room and poke my head in see Calli taking her inhaler. "Hey sweetie you feeling okay?" I question her she has really bad asthma sometimes over works herself.  She leans up and gives me a thumbs up and takes a swig of water.

     "You ready to go?"she says while standing up putting her bags on her shoulder and grabs her jug. I give her a nod and we walk to her car. "Okay so I was thinking ice cream, and then we go grab a test and you can take it at my house." She smiles while putting her stuff in the backseat.

     "That sounds good." I agree putting my stuff in the backseat and hoping in next to her. She smiles and turns the car on with the music blaring and the windows down. We head to Sonic for some ice cream and probably slushies too. "What do you think will happen if I am pregnant. Do you think that I could do it , have a baby in highschool. I mean what about band and graduating it would be so much work. But also I couldn't just throw them away, or give them up I would love them more than anything." I ramble thinking out loud.

     She looks at me with a sweet smile as we pull into Sonic. " Okay sweetie first do you want a slushie to?" She starts. I smile and before I can answer she continues. " I'll take it as yes and do two strawberry sundaes sound good?" I give her a nod knowing not to bother talking. "Okay,got it." She orders and then turns back to me seriously. "Okay now you probably aren't even pregnant, and if you are  you will be an amazing mom and I will be here to help you in any way you can do it and I'm here for whatever you need." She says "even if you want a pregnancy buddy."  She ended jokingly. But honestly that sounds awesome It would be really nice.

     "Honestly that sounds nice to be pregnant with my friends and watch our kids grow up together." I smile. She looks at me confused, but before she can talk our food comes. She pays the lady and then turns the car on and head's to CVS.

     "Honestly that does sound kinda awesome, I would do it for you so you aren't alone." She says sincerely and loving. She pulls into CVS and grabs her purse and turns off the car, and opens the door to get out. "Are you sure you want to go in?" She questions worriedly. I nod my head and hop out of the car and we walk in to CVS. As we walk in I notice Calli slip a beautiful gold ring on her ring finger. I give her a confused look about the ring. "Less judgment if they think your married or engaged." She whispers to me and hands me a gorgeous silver ring for me to put on, I slip it on as well. We walk to where the test are, I grab 3, 2 cheap ones and a clear blue and place them in the basket. "Let's also grab some snacks and I'm out of Tylenol." She says thinking out loud. She drags me to drinks first grabbing, Ginger ale and Sprite."go grab some snacks and get crackers they'll help with your nausea."she says and turns the other way I walk to the food aisleto pick out snacks. What do I want? Marshmallows, yes goldfish,yes Scooby-Doo snacks, yes gummy worms,yes random jar of pineapple,yes. I think I got enough junk food just as I'm grabbing saltine crackers Calli comes up to me. She throws her stuff in the basket I look to see what she got Tylenol, Benadryl, Magnesium, and oddly prenatals.

     "Why do you you have these." I question showing her the the bottles.

    "Well if you're pregnant you'll need them and if not I'll return them. I just don't want to make multiple trips to the store." She says pulling me to check out so we can go. The cashier greets us Calli hands her her our stuff with a small smile. The lady looks at us then the test disgustedly then noticed our rings and smiles. Before the cashier can open her mouth Calli turns to me. "So you think all your trying worked." She said with a wink, I nod acting hopeful. The lady finishes and hands us our bags with a sweet smile. "Thanks have a good day." Calli says as we leave and go to the car. Once we get in the car Calli takes off her ring and puts it back in her bag. I grab the ring from my finger and hand it to her and she puts it in a blue and red box.

     She turns the car on and head's to her house,her music blasting. The wind blowing past me the sun warmth calming me, this is summer bliss. We pull into Calli's house next to Kris's truck and she turns off the car and hops out. " Okay so I don't even have to pee." I say while grabbing my stuff and the CVS bags.

     "That's what the slushies and soda's are for." She says grabbing her stuff and shutting the door. "Plus the ginger ale will help your stomach." She says walking over to her house.  Give her a nod and walk over to her and hand her a CVS bag. We walk in to her and she yells " Hey Kris and other people, we are home now leave us alone." Greeting Kris and Mike then turning down the hall and to her room. I give Kris a wave and shut the door before following Calli. I climb over the gate to her room and throw my stuff next to her door. "Wanna grab some cups and I'll turn on Grey's?" She questions.

     "Sounds good to me."I smile and leave to go to her kitchen to grab cups. As I walk out of the room I see Kris and Mike making out in the middle of the living room. I quickly go to the kitchen quietly laughing I grab two cups and head back to the room. Once I get get back in the room I sit the cups down and hop on the bed next to her. "So they were like making out, out there." I point to the door. Calli laughs turning on Grey's and she hands me my slushy, and crackers. After half way through the episode. "I finally have to pee." I say getting
Up and grabbing the test. "Okay I'm going to go pee in one of those dixe cups and then when I'm done, can you help me test them?"

     "Yeah of course sweetheart, just knock on the door when you're done." She says I nod and walk into the bathroom with the test. I set them down and grab a little cup from the dispenser. Once I'm done I knock on the door and Calli comes in. While I'm washing my hands, she pulls out the clear blue and one of the cheaper ones. Putting the other cheap test in a drawer, and setting two pieces of toilet paper down. "Okay, you ready?" She ask grabbing the cheaper test first. I nod and she dips the test and set's it on one of the pieces of toilet paper. She grabs the other one and dips it as well then sits it on the other piece of toilet paper. "Okay now we just need to wait like three minutes, and if it's positive and you want you can invite Carson over and tell him today, it would be easier to do it sooner."

     "You have a point it would be easiest and we could go through the shock together. We could even make it special for him like an announcement. Oh could we use your pool it would be super cute and maybe it won't be a complete disaster. No of course it will be we're to young and we have no idea what we're doing. But I really do love him and he would be a good dad, he probably doesn't even want a kid. What if he just leaves me." I ramble stressing out.

     "Okay, sweetheart calm down he won't leave you, and I'm sure he'll be excited for you. As for using my pull to tell him yeah most definitely."she says pulling me into a hug. The timer beeps and I feel my stomach drop and I look at her scared. "Do you want me to read it to you?" She asked sweetly.

     "No I'll read it, can you hand it to me?" I say my voice breaking. She nods covering both test with toilet paper, and handing them to me. I look and there it is they both say it. "I'm pregnant." I say looking up at Calli.
