"Tyler don't play with your breakfast." I groan as I watch him create aeroplane noises and wave his spoon around in the air. He giggles in reply to my scolding and I roll my eyes at my inability at being strict with him.

My phone vibrates beside me and I look at the screen as it lights up in indication of a text message. I check that Tyler isn't doing anything stupid before picking my phone up and reading the text:

From Kia-

What would you say about a beach day?

I can't help but laugh at her spontaneous behaviour. Kia has always been the more adventurous out of the two of us, creating mad adventures in her mind that we will apparently one day go on.

To Kia-

No can do I'm afraid, looking after the little monster.

From Kia-

Even better!!! Bring him with you

Pleaseeee

Its bloody hot

For once in British history

I sigh, looking up from my phone and to Tyler's sticky face, which is now covered in cereal and orange juice. I mean what else would we do today?

"How about a trip to the beach buddy?" I ask him

"Is Ki Ki coming?" He asks

I roll my eyes once again at his question, "Yes of course she is."

"Yeh yeh yeh, let's go!" He cries happily, trying to get down from his seat immediately.

"Woah little man, not so fast we've still gotta get you changed and get the stuff together." I giggle along with him, helping him down from the chair.

As we bound up the stairs together, I pull my phone back out and text Kia back,

To Kia-

Fine... When and where?

Her response is nearly immediate,

From Kia-

YOU ARE THE SHIT!

Oh, and we'll pick you up at 11.

I go to put my phone away but quickly reread her last message, who is we?

To Kia-

We?

I wait for a reply but still nothing and I know that even is she had seen the message she probably still wouldn't reply.

"Come on Ty, we better get you ready." I shout out to his room as I quickly get ready to meet whoever it is that's on their way.

With Tyler in his blue swimming trunks and white top, which is more likely to be ruined by the end of the day, I finish stuffing things into a rucksack. Snacks, towels, a life vest for Tyler and spare clothes for both of us. I'm still going through a mental checklist when the doorbell rings.

"Ty it's time to go!" I holler out to him as I make my way downstairs and pull open the door,

"So, Kia who is actually..." I look up to notice that the figure behind the door is indeed not Kia but a familiar face from last week's A&E run.

"Woods." I say matter of factly, and he smirks at my shocked expression.

I recover quickly motioning for him to come in, "Let me just grab our stuff and the child two secs."
