In the world I live in, you can only be a human or an animal. Almost 10 centuries ago a war broke out. The war was between the animal kingdom and humans. The animals had the strength but the humans had weapons, and huge machines that could knock down 10 buildings all at once. Eventually the humans overpowered the animals and ended the war. Nowadays in the present all animals are forced to hide in places where they hope that the humans can't reach them.
The mammals hid in the forests. The birds hid in the trees. Bugs, insects, and arachnids hid underground. Crustaceans and amphibians hid under the sand on beaches or in small ponds or lakes, the rest of the animal kingdom were fish who hid in the deepest parts of the oceans.
Most animals thought the humans would never find them until news spread around all the animal habitats. Apparently humans found out all the animal hiding spots. If you were lucky a human would only catch you and either sell or keep you as a pet. If you were unlucky a human would kill you for food or take away your Family.
This world may seem confusing but it's not so bad as long as you know how to stay hidden. Eventually most of the animal kingdom, except for humans and animals that were good at hiding, died on land which left the humans no choice but to catch fish. They used huge machines called 'submarines' to go under water. Other humans caught fish using boats which contained fishing nets and scuba gear.
The only place a human couldn't travel to was the deep, black depths of the ocean because of the extreme pressures. The humans got curious and started creating underwater rovers to spy and study life in the depths of the ocean. The humans eventually gave up because it was to dark to see anything and whenever a rover came out of the water it would usually be ripped to shreds by something. That only made the humans more curious because there was no way a fish could cause so much destruction to an underwater rover that was made of steel and metal.
More humans started crowding the oceans trying to find a creature that was capable of doing this. They never did. Instead they could only catch glimpses of a weird fish-like tail but it was moving too fast to be a normal fish. I thought humans would never find out who or what the creature was until it was too late...
