Dirac sat with his head cupped in his palms. He tried his best to ignore the pain of his elbows digging into his knees as the doctor walked away from him. He was emotionally exhausted and very much sleep deprived.

Heavy boots stomped towards his direction, arousing his attention. Three men towered above him as he sat up to match their stance.

Markus nodded towards the men and walked away, patting Dirac's shoulder lightly as he did so.

Markus was a part-time bartender at Fairydust. He had studied forensic sciences back in school (not that he talked much about it) and had become a bounty hunter. He was also one of the doms at the club and a pretty good friend to Dirac.

As he walked away towards the lab they had stored the evidence for the authorities, Dirac stood there with Josh and King.

"How's he doing?" Was the first thing Josh asked, his Texan accent trenched in fear.

"They had to put him in a comma because of the swelling in his head. He hit it damn hard when he fell, and it's all my fault." Dirac forced those words out of his mouth as they were laced with bitterness. "The bullet went through his lower abdomen and damaged his kidney a little but they were able to pull it out. They are going to move him from ICU now but he won't wake up just yet."

"It's not your fault." King stated bluntly, with his face still as serious as ever. "We are going to find whoever did this, Dirac. In the meantime..." King motioned to the two men who started to approach them.

Both men were built heavily, wearing King's company's uniform as they walked over swiftly. The energy around them was dangerous as they stepped in front of them.

"Since we don't know who the hitman is yet, these two men will handle security for Dalais. This..." King pointed to the blonde man with bright blue eyes. He was less scary than the other one infact, he looked a lot more feminine with his round pretty face."Is Thriller. He was in the military with my boy Bones here." Thriller was certainly an unfitting name for him.

Bones on the other hand had scars that almost matched King's. He was a very muscular African American man. He wasn't exactly dark, just particularly very tanned. The only man who was his height was King and both men were freakishly tall. Basically Bones was the darker counterpart of King.

"Boys, this is Dirac." King continued. "The man you'll be reporting to. He's the victim's dom." The two men nodded in understanding. "We were in a club together after service." King whispered, sensing Dirac's interest.

"Mr Dewitt!" The doctor called out to the five men and Dirac stepped forward. She was visibly intimidated to have such big men give her their full attention but she pulled through it. "The patient was successfully moved to room 306. You can go see him now but not more than two people in there. He's still not conscious but he can probably hear you speak and recognize your voice."

"Thank you." Dirac said as the doctor walked away.

"Thriller and Bones start their shift tonight, I'll be heading home now and Markus said to meet in my office tomorrow morning to discuss what he found out. Josh, work on those searches too and I'll ask some of my guys to manage security details for you and Dalais."

"Thank you so much King. Really man, for all your help."

"It's my job and the rest is because we're friends." King said as he made his way out.

The four men made their way to Dalais' room. Once they arrived, Thriller and Bones remained outside while Josh and Dirac went in.

Dalais had bandages on his head as he lay motionless under the white sheets. He was hooked to the beeping machine, his arm pierced with a needle and his lips almost blue.

Dirac would give anything to see a smile crack on those lips, he'd give anything to kiss them but instead he was stuck at the door, guilt pressing through him.

Josh walked over to Dalais and kissed his hand, wiping away a strand of hair that clung on his face. He kissed the now pale cheeks which are usually red or brown depending on which room in the house they were in. Then Josh stood, looking at Dirac with so much sadness and a little pitty. Dirac knew it wasn't directed to him but Josh felt those things himself.

"I have to go home to figure out who did this to him." He breathed slowly approaching the door where Dirac still stood. "Take care of him, okay."

Dirac simply nodded as Josh disappeared, closing the door as he left. Dirac slowly walked over to the man on the hospital bed, afraid that every step he took might kill him.

Dalais looked so fragile and sensitive Dirac wanted to put him against his chest and make sure nothing and no one comes near him.

He reluctantly sat on the chair near the bed, reaching out to a hand that was still as warm as he remembered. Dalais' eyes were shut, making Dirac to miss the shade of brown they had.

He wanted to switch positions with him, wishing he had taken that bullet instead of Dalais.

"Hey, Dal." He finally spoke, his voice shaky and the hands holding on to the unconscious figure before him were all clammy. "Baby wake up. I don't want to have breakfast tomorrow without you. I don't want to eat breakfast you didn't make. I'll even eat the toast baby, just open those beautiful brown eyes of yours." He spoke, desperately trying to hold back the tears he hadn't let out since the day he exploded in front of Dalais.

"Dalais I'm so so sorry. I know it's all my fault. You were okay without me, you had no drama in your life. Now you're laying here and I... I feel so useless man. I don't know what to do, or where to start. Please come back to me. I need you."

He did. He really did need Dalais more than he'd needed anyone. He wanted to have just one hug, or a kiss, or his smile and teases. He needed this man and he loved him.

"I love you. I love you so so much and I've always loved you. All these years I've been telling myself that I'm a homosexual, that I love men but I'm not. I don't love men at all. I love only one man Dalais and that's you. If you were born in a woman's body, I'm pretty sure I still would've fallen in love with you."

"So you see Dalais, you have to come back to me. You have to baby because I'm not spending another minute of my life without you. I love you so damn much. So please come back."

That was when everything became loose and Dirac started crying hard.
