Dirac stood there, picked Bruno up and avoided Celia's heated gaze. The woman still stood in front of the widely open door with her brows raised and somehow Dirac knew what she was thinking.
"Go to him, Dee." Celia said softly. "Now!"
"No." Dirac said simply, holding his son close. Dalais was important to him, but not more than his son was. Bruno came first, before any man, before Dalais even before Dirac himself. "I promised Bruno a date." He smiled at his son, teasing his nose with his own.
"Don't be ridiculous, dad." Bruno mused wiggling out of him. "I'll wait here for you." He went behind the desk and sat comfortably, swallowed by Dirac's big chair.
Dirac made his way towards Celia and the woman just gave him a strained look.
"Look, I'm here to spend time with Bruno. I can't walk out on him because of some man. My son comes first."
"Is this the excuse you've been feeding yourself all these years?" Celia laughed. "You're not Gabriela, Ree. You are an awesome parent, Bruno knows that. Will you be alone for the rest of your life because you're afraid of putting someone before your son?"
"It's not that simple."
"But it is. Dee, you've been inlove with this man for as long as I could remember. He is not just some man. Yet you didn't even tell him about Bruno. How long have you been together?"
"Almost 5months."
"And you don't want anything with him?"
"Of course I do."
"Then leave. Get your sh-" Celia threw a glance at Bruno, who was happily playing candy crush on Dirac's work computer. "stuff together and stop being a freaking idiot."
Dirac didn't need to be told twice, he stormed out of his office and made his way to the packing lot.
Luckily, Dalais was still there. He was angrily kicking his flat tire, tears streaming down his beautiful face. It hurt Dirac to know that he caused those tears.
"Dal." He said softly, slowly approaching the man infront of him. Dalais didn't turn to him, but he ceased assaulting his car. "Dal, please look at me."
"What do you want, Dirac?" He said quietly. "I get it. You have a secret family you didn't want me to know about. You don't have to explain shit to me."
"Dalais it's-"
"So you're playing both genders now, huh? Sleeping with just anything that walks I see."
"No, of course not. Celia and I haven't-"
"And to think you've been lying to me all this time. I've been a complete idiot to fall for you. I should have kept my distance because frankly you never made any promises to me. I shouldn't have thought that your kinky sex and our past would mean shit to you. It was just a fuck right?"
"I'm sorry. Listen I-"
"For what? What are you sorry for exactly, Dirac? For not telling me you have a kid? That you're married?"
"I'm not married, Dal. For fuck's sake just please shut up and listen to me."
Dalais turned to him and shot him a sharp glare, his eyes challenging and a smile creeping its way to his face. He blinked away the tears but remained on one spot, urging Dirac to go on as he folded his arms infront of his chest.
"Go on then" he pressed.
"I'm not married to Celia, I was a sperm donor."
"Donors don't get to be called dad."
"Shut the fuck up, Dalais. Jeez." Dirac bursted. "Yes I donated my sperm to Celia and Genevieve with a term that I be part of Bruno's life. They also agreed to be my surrogates if they be in my child's life as their moms when I decide to have one. You're not just a fuck to me you idiot. You're my sub, my boyfriend, mine."
Dirac moved closer, slowly unfolding Dalais' arms.
"I'm sorry I didn't tell you about Bruno. I have just been having weird parent issues that I don't allow anyone to get close to my son. Only Elizabeth and Miranda knew about Bruno. I don't want the media to be all over him or everyone who hates me know he exists."
"Don't you trust me?"
"I do, Dalais. I trust you with my life. I just... I needed to know whether I could trust you with his. And I do. It was just too hard telling you after everything we've been through together."
"Fine. He's an adorable kid."
"Want me to introduce him to you?"
"Yah, but I can see you were planning something so maybe another time."
"No, you can join us. We can even eat that delicious meal you cooked." Dalais looked up and Dirac, biting his lip nervously as they made their way back. "What did you do?"
"I gave it to Miranda." Dirac frowned at him, feeling offended. "What? You had hurt me and I didn't want you eating the food I spent all day cooking."
"I'm pretty sure Miranda hasn't touched them. She's on a liquid diet."
They arrived at the reception and sure enough, the food was still intact. Dirac asked for them back, apologising and the two men made their way to Dirac's office.
When they arrived, Bruno was still playing candy crush and Celia sat on the couch, typing on her phone. She put the phone down on the table when they entered and walked towards them.
"Hey, Dalais. Good to see you after all these years." She smiled widely and pulled Dalais into a hug. "We haven't officially met but Dirac talked about you all through out the years. Also more when we were in Brondwing. I also saw you at the wedding... smart tux by the way."
"Brondwing?"
"The gay asylum thing." Dirac explained. "She was sent there too."
"Oh." Was all Dalais could say.
"Anyway. Bru." He called at his son who came running. "This is my son, Bruno. Bruno, this is Dalais. Daddy's friend."
"You mean your boyfriend?" Bruno asked, chuckling softly.
"Oh, I am." Dalais said shaking Bruno's little hand. "Thanks for correcting him, he didn't introduce me right."
"Since when did you have a smart mouth?" Dalais swatted Bruno's head softly causing the boy to laugh.
"Since I grew a smart brain." He mused.
"We better feed that smart brain then. I made chicken."
"Yay! My favourite." Bruno jumped.
