Revelations

        It’s Monday after Chris and I went on our date. I’m still kind of on edge about what he said about Theo. I don’t really know him, but I do know, from what I’ve seen, he’s really sweet and won’t hurt me.

        I’m in History with Chris and Mr. Johnson about the American Revolution. He makes History  super boring because of his mono-tone voice. If he was more like Ms. Green, I would probably pay a little more attention.

        “I think I’m going to fall asleep,” Chris says while yawning.

        I giggle and say, “I’ll be back. I’m going to the bathroom.”

        “Hurry back! I need you to keep me up,” he says, pouting.

        I walk into the bathroom and enter the second stall from the entrance. Before I can unbuckle my belt, Gia and Cara walk in, laughing. I step onto the toilet as quietly as I can so they won’t see my feet and notice there’s someone else in the bathroom with them. I look between the crack of the door to see them.

        “Are you going to  Bryan’s party on Saturday?” asks Gia.

        “Yeah. Why do you care? You can’t even go!” says Cara.

        “What do you mean I can’t go? I can do whatever I want.”

        “Um, hello! You’re pregnant, missy. Plus, there’s gonna be weed and a bunch of shot floating around which, I’m pretty sure you’ll be tempted to drink and smoke.” Cara says while rubbing Gia’s stomach.

        “Alright, I need to tell you something. But you have to promise that you won’t tell ANYONE. Especially Tia and Chris.”

        At the sound of my name I become more engaged in their conversation. Come on, Gia. Tell me what I need to hear, I think to myself.

        “What is it?” Cara says, beginning to fix herself in the mirror.

        Gia takes a deep breath and says, “Okay, I’m- not really pregnant. I just said I was to break Chris and Tia up. To separate them but, for some reason, it’s only brought them closer.”

        I KNEW IT! I knew she was lying. But, to keep Chris and me apart? That’s an new low. Even for Gia.

        Cara’s jaw drops and she stops fixing her hair. “The scandal of your life! So wait, what are you going to do if they find out?”

        “IF they find out, I’ll make something up. They’ve believed me so far. They’ll believe me later on,” Gia says while applying lip gloss.

        They walk out when they realize they’ve been in the bathroom for too long and run back to class. I walk out of the stall and run back to class completely forgetting I had to pee.

        When I get back to class, I see Chris with his head back and his mouth open, snoring. I sit next to him and hit him so he’ll wake up. When he looks at me, he can tell that I have something to tell him.

        “What’s wrong?” he asks, concerned.

        “I’ve got it. I’ve got the evidence I need to prove Gia’s not pregnant.”
