✴I Love Starfleet✴
"McCoy to Enterprise, come in. McCoy to Enterprise." Bones tries to reach anyone over the comm.
While Eleanor is by Spock's side, ready to try and catch him should he fall, she and Bones had tried to help him, but he insisted he could walk on his own, Bones let him on the condition he was careful.
Spock almost stumbles, grabbing onto the side of the cave they're in.
"Careful, Spock." Eleanor says, her hands hovering by him, ready to catch him, he just gives her a nod.
"Hey, take it easy there, Spock. That was just a temporary fix back there." Bones says.
"I understand, Doctor." Spock says.
Leaning down the three make their way through a small cave, there is an opening in the mountain, "Fascinating." Spock says.
"Ominous, dark, dangerous." Bones says, making Spock and Eleanor look at him.
Spock and Eleanor go on ahead, "We're going in." Bones says, throwing his hands up.
"Where else are we gonna go?" Eleanor says over her shoulder.
"Anywhere that isn't Ominous, dark and dangerous." he says, following them nonetheless.
Once inside Spock made his way over towards one of the walls and looked up at the ceiling, he found writing on it, "Intriguing." Spock says, making Eleanor walk over to look at the writing as well, "These symbols, are the same as those depicted on the artifact taken in the attack." he explains.
"You think it came from here?" she asks.
"It would seem so." Spock says, walking away from Eleanor to look for more writing, Spock then groans in pain and falls to the ground.
"Damn it, Spock." Bones says as he and Eleanor rush over to him, they help him sit up right and lean against the wall, they both take a seat on either side of him.
They fall into a somewhat comfortable silence.
Eleanor looks down and places her hands on her stomach, 'It was a bad idea to come on this mission, but I didn't think it this would happen. I'm sorry little one.' she thinks, rubbing her stomach.
"Spock! Spock, wake up, damn it!" Bones suddenly exclaims - making Eleanor look over - he places both of his hands on the sides of Spock's head.
Spock opens his eyes, "I am entirely conscious, Doctor. I'm simply contemplating the nature of mortality." he explains.
Bones sits back down next to him, "Feeling philosophical, huh? Massive blood loss will do that to you.".
It's quiet for a moment, until Spock speaks up.
"You asked me why Lieutenant Uhura and I parted ways." Spock starts, making Eleanor whip her head around to look at him, "I became concerned... in the light of Vulcan's demise that I owe a debt of duty to my species." he explains.
"You thought you should be off making little Vulcans, huh?" Bones says.
"That's why?" Eleanor says, sounding very annoyed with the Vulcan.
"Yeah, I can see how that'd upset her." Bones says, leaning his head back against the wall.
"I intended to discuss it with her further but I received some news which affected me unexpectedly." Spock says.
"What news?" Bones asks.
"Ambassador Spock has died." Spock says, holding back tears.
"Oh. Spock, I'm so sorry. I can't imagine what that must feel like." Bones sincerely says.
