Chapter 9

✴What Would I Do With Out You Two?✴

Scotty sets down Jaylah's radio on Uhura's station.

"Do not break my music." Jaylah says, hands on her hips.

"Break it? You're getting an upgrade." Scotty says, crouching down to mess with the wires under the station.

"The swarm ships are 60 seconds from breaking through." Sulu announces.

"Let me do it." Jaylah says, stepping forward.

"Nah, lassie." Scotty continues to mess with the wires.

"Let her do it." Uhura says.

Just then a big spark comes from the wires Scotty was holding,making everyone around him jump back, "Ah, you do it." Scotty grumbles, standing up and out of the way.

Jaylah steps forward, grabs a wire and plugs it into the radio, "There, see? Simple." she says to Scotty.

"Alright." Scotty sighs, "Captain, we're ready to broadcast.".

"The signal won't travel far, we have to get closer." Uhura interjects.

"How close?" Jim asks.

"Very." Uhura sighs.

"Intercept course, Mr. Sulu." Jim says, taking his seat, "Put us right in the middle of that thing.".

"Yes, sir.".

"The swarm ships are doubling back, they are forming an attack wave, sir." Chekov says.

"Alright, we got their attention. Hold steady, Mr. Sulu. Brace yourselves, everybody. Spock, Eleanor, standby to drop out of formation. Scotty, all queued up back there?" Jim asks over his shoulder.

"Aye, sir.".

"Ready to broadcast at 57.7 MHz." Uhura says.

"Made your choice, lassie?" Scotty asks Jaylah.

"I have the beat and shouting." she responds, pressing a few buttons on the radio.

The ship nears the large wave of ships, Jim grips the armrests of his chair tighter, "Let's make some noise." he says.

Jaylah hits play, a song Jim knows well starts playing, "That's a good choice." he says with a smirk.

"Faster, Doctor. We risk being consumed by their trajectorial decay." Spock says.

"What he said." Eleanor adds.

"Damn backseat drivers." Bones grumbles.

"Evade, Doctor!" Spock exclaims.

"God damn, I see it!" Bones yells, moving the ship out of another ship exploding.

Hearing the loud music that was playing, Eleanor gets a smile on her face.

"Is that classical music?" Bones asks.

"Yes, Doctor. It would seem to be." Spock answers.

Eleanor chuckles, Spock raises an eyebrow at her in question, "Jim loves this song." she explains.

Eleanor looks out the windshield watching as The Franklin flies through the smaller ships, through the "bees".

Then many of the ships around Yorktown explode.
