Chapter 7

✴That's A Hell Of A Distraction✴

Dropping Jaylah off at the entrance to Krall's base, Jim races down into it on the bike.

Jaylah crouches down, bringing out the beacon and presses it, Spock, Eleanor and Bones appear right behind her, "This way." she says running off, with the three right behind her.

Meanwhile Jim throws out devices to make more images of himself, racing all around the base.

The other four are crouched down in a crevice, behind discarded trash.

"I got to admit, that's a hell of a distraction." Bones says.

"Your friends are over there." Jaylah points over to their right, then leaves to help from afar.

"Come on." Bones says, leading the way.

"Over there." Eleanor says, pointing at the gated area, where the Enterprises crew resides. Eleanor takes her phaser and blasts the lock on the door, Bones pulls it open, while Eleanor and Spock keep a look out.

"Commander. Uhura, he took her." Sulu tells Spock, gesturing to where she last was.

Eleanor looks over at Spock, both sharing a worried glance, "Get the remainder of the crew to safety." Spock tells her and Bones, she nods to him as he takes off.

"Come on. Let's go, move." Bones says to the crew.

"Here." Eleanor says, handing one of the beacons to one of the crew members, sending it with them and the first group of people, once they're gone they send the next.

"10 seconds until transporters recharged, Doctor." Scotty says over the comm.

"Wait for my signal." Bones says both he and Eleanor are on the lookout for Spock and Uhura.

"Doctor!" Scotty exclaims.

"Damn it, man, we're not leaving without them!".

"There!" Eleanor says, pointing over towards Spock and Uhura, who are rushing over to them, all the while being shot at.

"Come on, let's go!" "Let's move!" Both Eleanor and Bones yell, rushing the group of people over towards what they're using as a platform.

Still being shot at, Eleanor, Spock and Bones fire off their phasers at what they can, but they begin to get surrounded.

Just then Jim jumps his bike off a ramp, landing in front of them, he drives around them, as his bike begins to create mist from the tailpipe, it hardens round them creating a wall between them and the enemy.

Jim slows down to a stop, to look at the last group, finding his wife's worried eyes, just before she's transported.

"We are ready for you next, Captain, just turn on your beacon." he hears Scotty say from over the comm.

Jim whips out his communicator, "Scotty, do you have everybody?" he asks.

"Aye, sir. Everyone except you and Jaylah. Hit the beacon and we'll grab ya." Scotty replies.

Jim looks around for any sight of Jaylah, when a beacon falls to the floor in front of him, looking up he sees Jaylah, who looks to be in trouble, he revs the engine of the bike, catching her attention.

"Captain, your beacon!" Eleanor hears Scotty yell, so she makes her way back to the transporter, hoping to find her husband, only he's not there.
