✴You Already Know What I'm Going To Say✴
"I'm picking up distress signals from every frequency coming from Yorktown." Uhura says, turning around in her chair, "Krall's already starting his attack.".
"Mr. Scott, what kind of weapons do we have?" Jim asks over the comm, as he walks back and forth on the bridge.
"We have pulse phase cannons and spatial torpedoes." Scotty replies.
"Great. Lock and load.".
"That does not matter. You cannot defeat the bees." Jaylah speaks up, making Spock raise his head up from looking at his screen.
"Maybe... maybe we lure them away. How do we get Yorktown time to get people to safety?" Jim questions.
"We are on horse and buggy compared to these things. We're barely holding together as it is, Captain." Sulu says.
Spock stands up from his chair, making his way around his station, "Captain." he says, catching Jim's attention.
"The flight patterns of bees are determined by individual decisions." Spock continues, making Eleanor raise an eyebrow, do bees really have anything to do with this; "Krall's swarm formations are too complex not to rely on some form of unified cyberpathic coordination.", a look of realization comes to Eleanor's face.
"I surmise that if we could..." Spock is stopped by Jim, "Spock, skip to the end.".
Eleanor walks around her station to stand next to them, "What he's saying is that if we disorient the swarm, we can kick its ass." she says, almost excitedly.
Spock looks over at Eleanor, nods his head, then looks back to Jim, "Precisely.".
Jim looks to the ground in thought, "Scotty, can you beam me onto one of those swarm ships?" he asks, making Eleanor look at him with some worry.
"Have you gone completely mad?" Scotty exclaims.
"Yes or no?".
"No. Yes. Maybe." was Scotty's answer.
"Captain, my familiarity of the interior of those ships, however brief, makes me more qualified for this away mission." Spock says before Jim can leave the bridge.
"Spock, you're still hurt." Uhura speaks up.
"She's right, Spock." Jim agrees.
Spock looks to the both of them, "I acknowledge and respect your concerns. Perhaps you will feel more confident if I were accompanied by someone with familiarity of both the ship and my injury." Spock says, raising an eyebrow, amusement ever so slightly in his voice.
"He's going to love this." Jim says with a smirk.
✴~✴~✴~✴~✴
Spock and Jim head towards the transporter.
The two hear footsteps rushing to catch up with them, Spock looks over his shoulder - Jim doesn't as he already knows who it is - seeing Eleanor coming towards them, Spock walks on ahead, as Jim slows down.
"You already know what I'm going to say, don't you?" Eleanor says once she's caught up.
"Yeah. You're going with them, aren't you?" Jim says, not sounding too happy about it.
"I know the ship too, so I can help." she explains, making Jim sigh, "Hey." she says, stopping and turning to look at him.
"Do you trust me, James?" she says with a smile.
