Scenario: Bulma x Vegeta Highschool Au
Thursday afternoons proved to be quite restless for the students at Orange Star High School. It was one of the few days of the week where the lunch options were actually good. There was always a bit of bumping around today that any normal person could ignore, but unfortunately Vegeta wasn't normal.
It took one bump, from one idiot to set him off but before be could really sink his teeth into the jerk, he was already spitting out an excuse. "Oh, sorry Vegeta! I didn't notice you there." Goku spoke.
Fucking idiot. Do you really think I care about what you have to say? "Where's Bulma?"
The mention of that name made all traces of joy melt from the taller one's visage. "She's...finishing up something for sensei. Why d'ya wanna know?" He tried to hide his annoyance.
Because I'm going to confess to her before you get the chance, moron. "No reason. I'm just curious as to why you aren't hanging off her like a parasite."
"Listen Vegeta," this seriousness wasn't something the older one was used to, but it did catch his interest. "I know you like her, I can tell by the way you're always staring at her. But what ever move you're planning, don't do it." He flashed a smile, but anyone with eyes could see the tension hidden beneath.
"Hmph. I'm shaking in my boots."
Goku walked off at that point, and the rest of lunch resumed without a care. Well, almost. Vegeta and Goku sat on opposite sides of the cafeteria yet they still gossiped about each other to their friends.
"What's your deal with Vegeta, anyway?" Krillin asked while taking a bite of his food.
"I just don't trust him, that's all."
"Oh c'mon Goku, don't be so protective. We all know, at the end of the day, Bulma's gunna do what she wants." Goku felt his heart twist. "And we both know she has the hots for him so maybe you should just let her handle it, ya know?"
He clenched his fist in annoyance. "I just don't get it. She can have any guy she wants 'nd she picks Vegeta?" The martial artist shook his head in disbelief. "I dunno Krillin, there's just something weird about him." The youth pouted. "I wish she'd just stick with Yamcha."
"Well, Bulma's a pretty smart chic, right? And they have known each other for a year now. I'm sure she can handle him." The monk smirked devilishly. "Now, tell me about that brunette you've been eyeing."
"Pfft! I-I'm not 'eyeing' anyone." The teen blushed. "I'm just curious is all."
"Yeah, okay!" Krillin teased before throwing a fry at Goku's big head.
The day dragged on, and with it Vegeta's patience. Teacher after teacher droned on but he only thought of Bulma. There's no way I'll lose to that clown. No way in hell. His confidence was strong, and after the school bell rang, the love stricken boy packed his bag and headed to Bulma's classroom before a single speck of Goku could be found. Ha, loser!
A stream of kids rushed out of the room but Vegeta's hand instinctively grabbed the girl and pulled her aside.
"Oh, Vegeta! What's the reason for this?" She tried to contain the fluttering in her heart.
"Bulmoose, I have to talk to you. It's important." He teased, and smiled just a bit when she rolled those ocean colored eyes.
"Ugh, would it kill you to use my actual name?" There was something about his jerky personality that made him so attractive but the teen girl didn't even bother to think of it. Bad boys were just her thing.
"Come with me, outside. We'll walk home together." He tugged her wrist desperately, the anticipation was difficult to contain.
The blue haired one squinted suspiciously. We have walked home before but he's too eager. "Yeah, you're definitely weird, and hiding something important." I don't wanna get my hopes up, but from the looks of it...maybe he'll confess? The thought was too powerful and immediately she turned her head away, breaking free from him. "Just let me get my stuff then we'll go."
Time felt impossibly slow once again, but at least it was more bearable seeing her, and the way she hastily carried out her books, and how her hair was tied up into this neat, red ribbon. The flow of her skirt complimented her slim and shapely legs, and when she turned around to talk to him, well, he could've gone on forever.
The youth took a survey of the crowd before the two exited the building. No sign of that dunce anywhere. Perfect. The pair walked through the busy streets, talked about school stuff, and even made fun of a few people along the way. They were both sarcastic, witty, but the only difference being Bulma was more extroverted.
I've never felt this comfortable with Yamcha. Bulma scoffed. She was enjoying their time together so much that she totally forgot he had something to say.
"Let's cut through the park." The young man made it a demand instead of a suggestion, but since she was so used to his personality, Bulma charged ahead.
"Oh wow, isn't it such a beautiful day, Vegeta? The cherry blossoms are in full bloom already!" She marveled at the beauty, glad she got to share this moment with her crush.
Now that the kid had the proper setting, and enough space between him and his love rival, the time was now more than ever. "Hey dummy, did you forget I had something to say?"
"Huh? Oh yeah! W-what is it?" Everytime the wind blowed she could smell the flowers, and the freshness of spring. The pink petals floated through the air like some cliche romance movie but she wasn't complaining.
He inhaled deeply. It was now or never. "I know you've known Goku for a long time, and I'm not sure what's going on between you two but it's obvious he's into you. And well, so am I." Bulma's mouth dropped open, with a stain of blush on her cheeks. "If you have to choose between me and that buffoon. It should be me because I can protect you where that idiot can't. We have more in common too." Then there was the little elephant in the room that he had to acknowledge, "I can see the look on your face when he talks to you. Yeah, the clown's good for a laugh but he's more annoying than anything else. I see it on your face, Bulma. Choose me over him."
The air between them was icy yet kids continued to laugh in the background and the wind remained carefree. But between them there was a silence that Vegeta almost screamed at.
"W-wait," she bit back a smile, and he could feel himself on edge, "you want me to choose between Goku and you as my boyfriend?"
Hearing the laughter in her tone made poor Vegeta rigid. "Yeah, so what? He—"
The girl broke out into laughter before walking closer to him. "You idiot, Goku is my adopted brother!"
"Your what?! Then why was he threatening me earlier today?"
"Threatening? Oh! Sometimes he's protective over the guys I date. He can be a pain but he means well, I guess." She waved her hands dismissively, as if all of Vegeta's torment was for nothing.
"But cheer up," her soft hands cupped the sharpness of his face, "I'll still go out with you~!" The youth giggled cutely before planting a kiss on his forehead. "You should smile more Vegeta, you'd look so much cuter!" But unfortunately the boy's body was frozen. "Well, guess I'm gunna have to walk myself home!" Bulma teased when she saw him so dumbfounded. She shimmied her body away until Vegeta finally snapped out of his stupor.
"Wait a minute, Bulmoose, you have a lot of explaining to do about that brother of yours!"
