Yep I was right, Kirishima was definitely mad. I couldn't tell why though. After lunch I ended up asking some of his friends why he seemed so fired up.
"Hey Bakugo! Can I ask you a question?" I asked walking over to my hotheaded classmate.
"Oi what do you want lava lamp?" Bakugo answered and I took it as 'hey you can ask your question'.
"So you were holding back Kirishima earlier and it looked like he was mad. What was he mad about?" I asked
"Oh he was mad that you were gonna have lunch with Icy-Hot instead of him because you usually have lunch with him and us," He said casually which was weird to me because he was almost always yelling. "He told me to hold him back because it would be 'not manly' if he went up and punched Icy-Hot in the face, which by the way I totally would have liked to see," He said before walking away to stop 'his idiots' fro doing something stupid. So, Kirishima was jealous? I mean he couldn't be because we aren't even dating, and neither are me and Todoroki. So whats the big deal?
(Time skip to the next day)
I walked into homeroom and sat down in my seat. Kirishima came up and talked to me for a little bit before class started.
"So, Baylee why did you have lunch with Todoroki yesterday?" He asked sounding nervous
"Oh he asked me after the final exams and he usually sits alone so I decided I would sit with him for a day. Why do you ask?" I replied.
"Oh no reason I was just curious," he said just as Mr. Aizawa walked in.
"Alright class I have an announcement to make regarding our surprise for you. I'm sure you all remember that I said to pay attention in English classes correct?" He asked as the class nodded in response. "Well there is a training summer camp in Long Island New York, which is in America, and we are taking you there to see how they train against threats to them and to learn more about the English language," He said and paused for all of us to get excited. "We have already gotten permission from your parents/guardians and will be leaving next week. Any questions about the area can be answered by me or by Hansen" As he said that everyone looked in my direction confused.
"I am from Long Island New York, and have gone to the summer camp mentioned since I was a little kid. Which is why I prefer to be called by my first name and why I can speak such perfect English," I said standing up from my desk so everyone could hear me.
"Wait you are american?" Kaminari asked and I nodded in answer. Mineta mumbled something I couldn't really make out, but I figured it had to be something perverted.
"Alright that's all I had to say for homeroom today goodnight" Mr. Aizawa said before rolling up in his yellow sleeping bag and taking a nap for the rest of the period. Then I got bombarded with questions.
"Is it hot there?" Ashido asked
"In the summer yes, but in the winter it gets quite cold" I replied. People would ask me about the camp, the area the language, the people, my friends, then they asked about my parents and I had to stop. The truth is having a god for a dad isn't all that swell. He never was there for anything in my life heck I've never been with the dude for a whole day.
In English class Present Mic taught us phrases we would commonly use especially if we didn't have me or him there to translate for the other people. At lunch I was still bombarded with questions and most of them I could answer, and the rest I chose not to so they could still be surprised when they entered the camp. I did tell them that the camp has a lot to do with Greek mythology and even the cabins are named after the gods. Did I choose to tell them how I was going to kick their trash in capture the flag? Nope! They get to be surprised with that one.
