falling into the alternative perspective
Much to Wynter's relief, she got the opportunity to spend a few extra days in France because she had not too long ago designed shoes for Nike and had to get photoshoots done and promotional videos recorded for her shoes' soon-to-come release. However, as she returned from the international break later compared to other players, she only had a day of relaxation before she was thrown back into the football environment once again.
A few hours before she was to head over to Melwood, Wynter found herself back in the comforts of her home along with Reese and Indigo. The trio was stationed in the french girl's bedroom with Wynter sat up against her headboard, Indigo sat in the hammock chair by Wynter's bay window while Reese wandered through Wynter's jersey closet for a player's jersey of her preference.
Once Reese and Indigo shared their scoop of gossip to the group, the french player didn't hold back to recall her conversation with Antoine. Even with the short time that she has been friends with Indigo and Reese, she knew she could fall back on their relationship advice for her – even if she ironically happened to be the only one in the group who was boo'd up.
"Wait a minute, so you think there's something going on with Trent?" Indigo asked, her eyes concentrated on her phone.
Wynter clutched tighter onto her pillow, shaking her head. "I'm not entirely sure, but it's just a suggestion I got from Antoine when I was in France."
"I don't know about you two, but I find it hard to believe that something could be wrong with Trent," Reese said, emerging from the french player's jersey closet with a João Félix jersey in her grasps. "Can I have it?" she asked in an excited tone.
"Since when were you an Atleti fan?" Indigo folded her arms, glancing at the blonde with doubtful eyes.
"Since Felix joined the team," Reese explained quickly before turning back to Wynter. "Anyway, can I have it?"
Wynter's face broke out with a small smile as she couldn't resist her friend's pleading look. "Take it as you want but you better have left my jersey closet as you found it. It takes me forever to arrange it from the number of jerseys I have in there."
Reese let out a squeal, making her way over to Wynter's bed to engulf her in a hug. "Thanks, girl and don't worry, Winnie. It's all good." Reese reassured her as she made herself comfortable on the bed next to the player, crossing her legs. "Anyway, back onto the topic: Trent. What's up with him?"
"That's the problem—I don't know what's wrong with Trent or if anything is even bothering him. As I said, it was a suggestion."
"Yeah, a suggestion that you seem to be clinging onto," Reese nudged Wynter before she wrapped her arms around the player. "Do you think something's up with Trent?"
Wynter huffed, trying to find the right words to say. "In all honesty, I'm not too sure. Like trust and honesty have been playing a really big part in our relationship since earlier on this year because of our break up and due to my dishonesty towards Trent. So if something was going on with him, I feel like he would have told me by now 'cause it would be hypocritical if he didn't. And. . . Trent just seems fine so I don't see why I should be overthinking the worst.
"But at the same time, I was like that to others who didn't know about what happened in Russia beforehand. For all I know, he's going through a mid-life crisis and I have no idea about it. I don't know. What are your thoughts guys?"
"For me, it seems like you're feeling and saying all of this out of guilt."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, the situation that Trent could possibly be in is almost like the situation you were in before the breakup. You were going through a horrible time and Trent had no knowledge of it until you came out about it. If he's even going through something, you want to be there for him 'cause you don't want him to go through anything alone – kind of what happened with you."
