The ocean has been his favourite place to seek refuge from all the disturbing thoughts. It is his safe place—a calming realm. He remembers his wonderful childhood, his loving parents pouring endless love towards him and how they would always take him to the beach. Being the only child, he received so much affection and care from everyone.
A lavish life he must say, a well-off family that belongs to a social class that people refers as, the elite. But one thing he learned from his parents is to always be kind. He grew up witnessing both his father and mother being splendidly generous and never too proud of what they have. True, they have big house and big cars, but they have hearts too.
He remembers when he was barely seven years old, out and about with his mother and suddenly their family driver called. The driver, Mr Song said that her daughter has fallen sick and he humbly asked if it's okay to fetch them quite late. Instead of asking him to fetch them, his mother asked him to go to his daughter, take the car and don't come back unless his daughter is perfectly fine.
And the fun part is, they went home by bus and had the best time ever in their lives.
"What should I do today...", he scrolls his phone, searching for things-to-do nearby. "The weather is pretty sunny today, should find something fun to do"
He pushed himself off the comfy bed, messy hair and swollen cheeks from the 5 cups of ramen he had last night for supper. Dragging his feet to the big standing mirror, he examines his skin that has gotten slightly tanner after the long surf yesterday. It is so refreshing to be doing something alone and far from home, not bumping into anyone he might know around his home.
He needed the time alone, just him and himself exploring new things. He is not the type to mingle around with new people that much—a reserved one. He enjoys the company of friends he can count on, keeping his circle very small. But undoubtedly, his manners and chivalry has made people dote on him.
The soft buzzing sound of a text notification makes him turn to the bed, seeing his phone screen lights up.
