The Lost Gem [Complete]

Chapter 5

Peridots P.O.V.

"Yo P'dot!" Amethyst said as she burst into bathroom

"What do you want?" I replied grumpily

"Well I was looking for something to cheer you up and I found these!" She said as she held up a red bag

"What is it?" I said now curious

"DORITO'S!" She yelled happily

"You woke me up for food? Amethyst, you know I hate food." I said as I buried my face in the fallen shower curtains

"Just try it, I'm sure you'll like it." She said as she opened the bag

The bag popped, making me jump. I peeked out from under the curtains and looked at the red bag of 'Doritos'. She put the bag in front of me and sat next to me inside the tub. I nervously grabbed a chip and shoved it in my mouth. I slowly smiled and ate another.

"Told you that you would like it!" She said happily

"I guess even clods can be right sometimes.." I said with a mouthful of chips

Steven opened the door and squealed. I looked at him confused. All of a sudden the two started to laugh.

"What's so funny?" I shouted angrily

"Peridot you have dorito dust all over your lips!" Steven said as he giggled

I groaned and got up to look in the mirror. I reached for the fauchet but Amethyst stopped me.

"Don't waste it! Lick it off!" She said giggling

"What? No!" I responded

"DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!" They chanted

"You crystal clods.." I said as I succumbed to their chanting

I quickly licked my lips, but to my annoyance my face felt more wet than before.

"Good job Peri!" Amethyst said congratulating me

I froze at those words, I felt my anger ball up in my chest.

"Hey are you okay..?" Amethyst asked, now concerned

"Get. Out." I said as I looked at the floor

"What?" She asked confused

"I SAID GET OUT!" I yelled angrily

"WHY ARE YOU SO MAD ALL OF A SUDDEN?" She shouted back

I began sobbing and I sunk down onto the floor. They bent over me wondering why I had gotten so mad.

"Peridot-"

"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I wailed, cutting her off

She left and Steven sat next to me.

"Hey, did Amethyst say something to upset you?" He asked

I pressed my face into my knees and quietly cried.

"Peridot, please tell me why you're upset." He said, putting his hand on my shoulder

"S-She used my nickname.." I said wiping my tears

"Nickname?" He asked

"Lapis gave me a nickname, Peri. She only used to comfort me or whenever she was too tired or lazy to say my full name.." I said as I hugged my legs harder

"O-Oh, so that must mean a lot to you?"

"Yes."

"So her saying that really hurt?"

"Yeah."

I got up and splashed my face with some cold water. I climbed into the tub and placed my head under the fauchet. I pulled the shower curtains over my body and waited for a drop of water to fall onto my gem.
