Chapter 2

Peridot's P.O.V.

Without Lapis my life has become bleak and bland. All I do now is look at photos of Lapis, and sleep. Today while on a search in my photo gallery I found videos of Lapis and I doing random things. I pressed the play button with my shaky hand. I waited nervously as the video loaded for a second. I watched as I rambled on about trying to teach pumpkin tricks. I giggled as I watched myself trying to teach pumpkin how to roll over. Then some water came out from a puddle and rolled pumpkin over. Pumpkin squealed in delight and Lapis came on screen. I felt my heart pounding waiting for Lapis to talk. She bent over and played with pumpkin, speaking to me casually. I felt my hot tears rush down my face with each word she spoke. The video ended and I was left loudly sobbing. Steven rushed into the bathroom to check on me.

"Peridot? Are you okay?" He said as he ran over to me

I sobbed loudly and hugged the tablet. Somehow it moved on to another video and played it.

"I'm going to scare Peridot!" Lapis said giggling

I sniffled and looked at the tablet. Lapis placed the tablet on the floor so she could record herself scaring me. I turned a corner and screamed as Lapis jumpscared me.

[I remember that day. Heh.. Lapis felt really bad about it afterwards..] I thought as I watched myself fall on the floor

I had started sobbing and Lapis sat on the floor hugging me, and apologizing

"Don't worry Peri, it's only me!" She said as she scooped me up into her arms

I responded by incoherently screaming and crying. Lapis kept apologizing to me.

"L-Lapis.." I said as I pressed my face into her chest

"Yes?" she responded as she cradled me in her arms

"You won't leave me ever, right?" I said as I looked up at Lapis

"Never, ever. Besides you'll always be with me, right?" Lapis asked smiling

"Y-Yes!" I said as I cuddled her

"How about we go watch your favorite Camp Pining Hearts episode?" She suggested

"T-That would be nice.." I responded wiping my tears

Then Lapis flew us up to the couch and we started to watch my favorite Camp Pining Hearts episode. The video ended. I sobbed even louder than before and turned off the tablet. Steven picked me up and wiped my tears.

"Wanna go watch some Camp Pining Hearts?" Steven asked "I have a few episodes saved on the tv! I only have the episodes where they are at the beach for some reason.."

"T-Those were her favorite episodes!" I said as I sobbed louder

After that Steven hugged me and kept apologizing. After a while I stopped.

"Steven..?"

"Yes?"

"Can you heal my broken heart with your magic spit stuff?"
