Natasha POV

*2 weeks later*

After what Steve said to me I couldn't face him. I have no idea why but I couldn't pick up the courage. I told him everything thinking he couldn't hear me but the fact is, he could hear me loud and clear.

Maria- Nat you have to face him. He never judged you for anything. After you ran off he came to find me and ask if you were okay. He told me everything and said he told you because you deserved to know and that he wanted to talk to you.

Natasha- Well I guess I am just gonna need more time.

Maria- NAT IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS.
I don't mean to shout at you but maybe man up. it's obvious that he likes you so just apologize for what you did and move on.

Natasha- He doesn't love me and I don't love him.

Maria- Then why did you say it to him?

Natasha- I didn't...

Maria- The walls in the hospital aren't sound proof if you have the door open!

Natasha- Wait you heard?

Maria- Every single word.

Natasha- fine I will talk to him at lunch okay.

Maria- You better.

I walked off into the direction of IT not that I needed to learn about computers since I learned how to hack into one at the age of 9 but it was a fun and easy class so why not. The other thing I was worried about was Tony's party. Because of everything that happened with Steve he pushed it back to this weekend. Great just what I wanted. Oh gosh and the Romeo and Juliet play, aghhh and I had to be a flying bird damn you Rogers. I felt bad for what I did to him but after the lesson I am gonna talk to him.

- Natasha.

Natasha- hmmm what hello?

-The bell went 5 minutes ago.

Natasha- oh sorry thanks miss.

I walked out of the classroom and headed straight to lunch hoping to find Maria and the girls when I realized they would be at cheer. Great. I walked down to the P.E hall and found them in the changing room. Talking about some crap. I was going to keep to my word and dress up like a cockatiel but only for one day considering I am trying out for the cheer team, with a lot of push from the girls. The teacher soon came in and gave me the bird outfit and the girls erupted into laughter. I could tell Sharon was silently judging me just by feeling her eyes on my back. Gosh she really was a creep.

I ran outside the changing room to fill up my bottle when I ran into something hard. I looked up to see the one and only Steve Rogers. I quickly grabbed his arm and pulled him around the corner.

Steve- What do you want Nat?

Natasha- Umm I wanted to apologize for my actions. It came to a big shock to me that you heard it and I am not very good at opening up to people so it would be great if we could just pretend that never happened and move on thanks.

Steve- Nat wait...
I was wasn't mad at you. I was just worried I hurt you in some way and I thought you should know the truth.

Natasha- Thank you I am sorry if I hurt you.

Steve- it's ok.

I walked closer to him and pulled into a hug. One that was very over due and we stayed like that for about five minutes. I broke off the hug and stared into his blue eyes and quickly glanced at his lips, which was a huge mistake. We both started leaning in towards eachother. I closed my eyes waiting for it to happen.

Wanda- Nat you have to get ready we need to be out in five!

We quickly jolted away from eachother and both immediately blushed. I gave him a peck on the cheek and left. I ran into the changing room and realised I hadn't even filled up my water bottle. Damn it!

I got suited up and prepared to be humiliated Infront of my friends (and Sharon and her 2 friends).
On my way out the door I found out that I couldn't actually fit out of the door and the girls had to help push me out of the changing room door and the double doors onto the pitch. As I waddled out I could see everyone with confused faces as I just stood there in a giant bird outfit.
Maria was laughing hysterically so I ran over and bumped her so she felt over and then proceeded to lie on top of her as a giant bird. I quickly felt Sam pulling me off and helping Maria up.

Natasha- gosh you guys are no fun.

I said as I took of the bird hat. I felt everybody's eyes on me and heard Steve start to laugh and turned to look his way, as I put the bird hat back on and ran over to him next attacking him and bumping into him as he just ran away from me. What didn't help was a rock that was in the way of my path that I ended up tripping over and because the bird costume was so round I couldn't get up so I was just rolling around in circles on the floor until Steve came and pushed me into my feet again.

Steve- I didn't expect you to actually do it.

Natasha- I never back down from a challenge Rogers.

The air was still a little bit awkward from the near kiss incident but when I was with him it was perfect even if I was a giant bird.

I could also definitely tell Tony was filming the whole thing on the sidelines since he is too weak to become a player!
