It had been a couple of months since the Tenrou team's dissapearence. It had struck Fairytail down to get washed down the drain. I was training more often and going on jobs every chance I had to keep up the guild's reputation. I had become the Mira and Erza of the guild basically. No one realized just how much Mira meant til she left, so I took over. I was mixing drinks at the bar for Macao and Wakaba.
"Shouldn't you not be back there? What are you? 20?" Wakaba asked.
"Who cares with the drinks she makes, then again she is only here half the time." Macao said.
Macao had started taking care of me when I first joined the guild. He was and still is my amazing father figure. Since Macao was like a dad to me, Wakaba was like a distant uncle. I say distant because I heard him talk about how "my body had shaped nicely since I joined the guild.". I got out from behind the bar and went to the request board and grabbed a job. I went back to Macao showing him that I was taking it.
"Oh you're going on the slime mission?" He asked.
"Alright then. Have fun, don't die, all that dad stuff." He patted my head
"I'll be back by happy hour tomorrow!" I shouted and left on the last train to Hargeon.
That was my basic schedule, go on a job, come back to serve drinks, sleep on the train, and start over. For serval years I was able to keep it up, I even paid the taxes that that rude guild made us pay. I grew to be very powerful and was even in Socerer Weekly as the center fold for just about every copy. One day I came back to the guild from my mission, getting right back to work.
"So how did that tunnel mission go?" Macao asked, sitting in front of me. I fixed his drink quickly.
"It was alright, but I didn't earn enough for the taxes..." I looked down sorrowfully at the wooden mugs. I handed Macao his drink.
"You don't have to feel so bad. I know it may not seem like it, but everyone in the guild has seen how you've risen to the challenge while the rest of us went into a total funk. We all really do appreciate what you do for the guild." He smiled at me.
"You always have to be so sappy at this time of day." I sighed.
"But I'm proud of my girl! I mean look at you! You were around for every practice Romeo had, supporting him like a big sister, and beating his ass when he deserved it. You're extremely strong and popular. You aren't that scared little girl I welcomed to stay at my home all this years ago.." He started tearing up at my accomplishments. "Now if only you had that spark you had when I taught you my magic..."
I shivered from the fact that he realized how I was acting. I was constantly worn out.. And I was ready to kick the bucket several different times, but Fairytail meant something to me. I wasn't going to hurt the guild with my absence.
"I know you're lonely deep down... I know you're scared about that engagement.. And I know how much you think about having someone to love." He said watching the alcohol as he turned the mug. I teared up and hugged him.
"Thank you.... Dad..." I smiled into his shoulder. Suddenly I saw Romeo run in, he seemed worried. I ran to him holing him loosely by his biceps.
"What's wrong?" I asked, wiping away the tears that were starting to form in his eyes.
"It's Grimoire Heart.. They're here for the taxes.. They nearly ripped me to shreds.." I looked to see he was fairly scratched up.
(I know it's not grimoire heart who does this in the show, but I can't remember who it was and I don't think it really makes a huge impact on the story so I don't care)
"Go to the infirmary, I'll come and patch up your wounds once I'm done out here okay?" I asked in my big sister voice, I was only a few years older than him, but it made all the difference. He went off to the infirmary, I awaited Grimoire Heart's arrival. They entered and started asking for the taxes, I looked around. Everyone here wasn't doing well in the money department, I knew that. I stood up in front of them, hold my ground.
"We don't have your money." I told them.
"Woah look! That's Y/n L/n!" Some of the guys said.
"A celebrity huh?" Their leader checked me out. "Well princess, how about we strike a deal here?"
"And what would that be?" I asked.
"I won't make you pay, if I get night alone with you, tomorrow night." He said slyly.
"Y/n! You better not do this! I swear to God Y/n!" Macao yelled, the leader held out a card.
"This is the address. If you don't come you better have our payment, otherwise we'll trash this guild." He said walking away. I looked down at the card....
Maybe I'll feel something if I do this...
