After Bates let out his last sniff he let go of Boy and walked away. Boy noticed Cosmo staring at the pot in silence. He walked over to Cosmo to only see him crying.

"Cosmo?" Boy said Cosmo looked at Boy. His face was puffy. His light blue eyes were darker now and he had bags under his eyes.

"I killed him didn't I David, I was the one to end Borris."

Boy looked at Cosmo and sighed.

"No Cosmo you didn't kill him. He's free now." Boy said. He looked down at the spilled soil and the untouched broken pot pieces.

Cosmo looked down at the pieces as well.

"I didn't want him to leave."

Boy frowned and thought a little bit to himself. He honestly didn't want Borris to leave like that either. The bottom of his eyes felt like they were being pulled by a weight. His eyes heart. His heart stung and he felt an emptiness.

"Are you leaving Boy?" Cosmo finally spoke.

"Me leaving you and Bates? Where would I go?" Boy said with a sad laugh. He was being honest. He didn't have anywhere else to go.

"Do you know why bad things have been happening.. All of a sudden?" Cosmo asked.

"I'm not sure.. Ever since Bo-... He showed up, Walker the male of the house died. Malinda was sent to jail, the female of the house. The orphanage has been set up in flames killing my sister and my friend. I found you and your mother died.." Boy said. He couldn't bear to shed another tear he swore he was running dry of tears he was afraid he'd cry blood.

"Then Borris dies." Cosmo finished.

Boy looked at Cosmo and nodded.

"Maybe it was a part of her plan." Bates walked into the room and stared at Boy.

"Excuse me?" Boy said.

"Malinda," Bates said.

Cosmo looked at Bates confused.

"Malinda?" Boy repeated.

"Yeah, she's in the papers. She was said to have killed our mother and has confessed that she set an orphanage on fire." Bates continued.

Boy's eyes widened.

"She wanted to kill us! But why did she kill your mother?"

Bates shook a newspaper in his hand and handed it to Boy.

"They had some beef together. My mother hated her and her stupid garage sales."

Boy read over the paper and laughed nervously.

"Yeah, I hated those things."

"I always used to wonder why there were toys hanging around that stupid place."

Boy scanned over the papers and noticed in big bold letters more towards the bottom claiming she died.

"Looks like she died?"

Bates nodded and looked at the shattered pot and sighed.

"She killed herself?" Boy asked. Bates shrugged.

Boy looked at the paper and saw a sentence and read it in his head.

'Malinda wrote in bold letters in her jail cell explaining why she did a thing like this. She said she wanted revenge and now that the brats where dead she was completed her to-do list.'

"She wanted to kill us." Boy said.

"The reason my sister is dead is because of Malinda.. Why couldn't Borris just have told me?"

Bates walked over and snatched the paper and read it over.

"Geez, She really hated you too huh?" Bates said handing the paper back over. Bates looked at Cosmo.

"What's up with you?"

Cosmo was biting his nails and mumbling something. Bates grabbed his face and rubbed his thumb over his dark eye bags.

"Have you gotten sleep, Cosmo?" Bates asked.

Cosmo looked at Bates and frowned.

"No." He said blankly.

Bates tilted his head and pushed Bates to the jackets on the ground and ushered him to lay down.

"Go to sleep."

Cosmo closed his eyes and quietly fell asleep.

Bates looked at Boy and frowned.

"What's with him?" Bates asked.

"He thought he was the cause of Borris's death." Boy said. Boy looked around the room and shivered from the cold breeze coming in.

"He wasn't, It wasn't anybody." Bates sat on the coats in the corner and covered himself with them.

Boy walked over to the other side of the room, Where he'd slept the day before. He looked at Bates, who was staring at him.

"You know he'll come back for us," Bates said out of the blue.

Boy smiled.

"I hope he does."
