"I think we should hang out soon. I haven't spoken to you in ages." Luke laughed down the phone.

"Yeah we should. Just come over right now and we can hang out." I spoke.

"Great, should I bring some movies?"

"Yeah, bring Monsters Inc because-"

"Because it is your favourite because it's an amazing film, I know Alana." Luke laughed.

I smiled down the phone. Luke always knew a lot about me. He was my best friend before I met Calum and we kind of drifted apart. He headed to a totally different friendship group than mine but we always kept some kind of contact, he was my first ever best friend.

"Be there in 10." He said.

I cut off the phone, brushing through my hair and setting up the sofa for Luke and I. I always had a soft part for Luke, he was so sweet and kind and a really good best friend. But, Calum and I had a connection in a way Luke wouldn't understand and I think he was okay with that.

My doorbell went off and I skidded to it, opening it up to a grinning Luke holding movies and popcorn. He let himself in, walking past me and heading straight to the kitchen. When we were younger, Luke would always stay at my house, so he knew where everything was. It was like he had been welcomed home after being away for years.

"It's sweet popcorn right?" I asked, my eyebrow lifted.

"Well of course." He laughed.

I nodded and grinned, moving my eyes away from him and to the popcorn.

"So, how have you been? When I saw your text, I was shocked." He laughed, sitting down.

"I've been good. I'm glad school is over. Have you been good?" I asked.

"Yeah, great. I've been awesome."

I nodded, looking back over to him and into his eyes. We stood there for a moment, his eyes boring into mine. They were so pretty and blue and made you feel all warm and cosy inside. I missed seeing him around, we just never hung out that much anymore.

We carried on looking at each other for a while, his eyes moving to my lips every so often. My eyes also made there way to his lip-ring, it was so hot.

The microwave went off, causing Luke and I to jump a little and then laugh.

"So, how's Calum?" He asked, putting the popcorn in a bowl.

"Oh, he's okay. He's hanging out with Emily today." I murmured.

"Oh. He seems to really like her."

"Yeah, I know. It's...cute."

Luke nodded, looking me in the eyes, "You okay?"

I nodded, picking up the bowl and heading to the living room where Monsters Inc was on pause. Luke was very different from Calum. I loved Calum a lot, in a more than a friend way, but Luke understood me and he actually cared about your feelings. I don't know how we drifted apart, I just wish we hadn't, he means a lot to me.

We both got comfy, my head resting on his shoulder and his head resting on my head. The movie played on and Luke and I laughed when we were meant to, cry when we were meant to and carried on like normal friends would do. Every so often his hand would wrap around my waist and then let go quickly, I was confused about the gestures.

The credits rolled down the screen and I got up, Luke falling head first into a pillow. I laughed a little, looking at his long body lying on the sofa. He smiled, picking himself up, "Why'd you get up?"

"I need the toilet." I laughed, squirming a little to hold in the pee.

"Well go then." Luke laughed, throwing a pillow at me.

I giggled a little, heading to the bathroom. I hate to say it, but the toilet is where I do a lot of thinking. I guess I just think about stuff that is bothering me or is on my mind. Right now it was Calum, he was happy with Emily but he kissed me and tells me he loves me every time he's drunk. He's so confusing. And now there's Luke, someone who seems to genuinely care about my feelings and ask me what is wrong. I wish life wasn't this hard. As I said, I always had a soft spot for Luke. I just wish my life wasn't as confusing. My mind and heart were confused. Very confused.

A knock hit my door, "Alana, I kind of need to leave." Luke spoke.

"Oh, one second!"

I washed my hands and unlocked the door, smiling at Luke as I brushed my hands off, "Why do you need to go?"

"Mum wants me at home, something about the dog or something..." He smiled, scratching the back of his head.

I nodded, leading him to the door and opening it for him.

"I had fun today. We should do it again sometime." Luke grinned.

"Yeah, text me later or something." I grinned back.

He nodded, shutting the door behind him. I smiled a little after, staring at the door. I had never felt this good for a while but it seemed Luke could make me smile a lot. I'm glad he's back in my life, I missed him so much.

Can we start over? Can we be strangers again? Let me introduce myself. We can laugh and talk. And relearn what we already know. And come up with new inside jokes. And create new memories. And give each other, a second chance.
