I never thought I'd do it.Graduating college is far beyond my expectations of myself.Yet, here I was dressed in a cap and gown, waiting to get my diploma."Anilase Aaherius." I heard.

Apparently, they started calling names now.I wished I had a Z name because if I did, I'd get to go last, but since my name was Mercia Delta, it might be impossible."Stacia Abapla." pounded in my ear.

That microphone should be SO MUCH quieter than this.I saw Stacia go up on the stage and collect her diploma. The multi-purpose room was hot and my cap n' gown were NOT supporting that.Stacia was a very good friend of mine through high school and since we went to the same college, we became best friends."Juliette Baliet." was munched up into barrows of sound when it reached my ears.

Why the hell was that microphone so damn loud?!I hated Juliette and her "group", now that I never have to see their faces again, I might just be so darn happy."Kaylia Bistruit." was the next diploma reciever.I didn't know who the heck she was, but the name was familar."Alexander Caliphio." was next.

However, it didn't annoy me.Alex was a amazing friend to me.He was there whenever I needed him.He wasn't a decent friend, he was one of my best friends. Then I realized, HOLY SHIT, WE'RE ON THE C's!

"Marie Cyposz." was called.Oh, no, D's should be next. You might think I'm crazy to be stressing out about this, but ever since I was scarred, I vowed I wouldn't put myself in the awkward situation of "The Center Of Attention".Why, you ask?Ok, when I was 13 my best friend, Lydia basically pushed me on stage when it was open mic at Rangie's Coffee House, a local coffee shop in my hometown of Bridgeview.I sung the first couple words of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn", then ran off the stage when everybody started laughing.

"Mercia Delta." was probably the loudest.I closed my eyes and gulped.

Don't screw this up, Mercia.

I pushed myself on stage.I shook my professor's hand nervously and started walking back.

See Mercia, your fine.

Yeah, right until I hit a speaker, accidentally. The crowd gasped, then fell with laughter.Luckily, I was quick to grab the speaker before it hit the ground. The speaker was only about 30 inches long and 18 inches wide.Thank god, I don't have to go back there no more.I went straight to my on-campus dorm to pack up my crap.I knew some kids were having parties, but I just wanted to leave. When I entered my room, I started with my clothes. After, I realized that I'd need some help with all my stuff, considering I'd need to pack up all my shit by tomorrow.I zipped open my purse and searched for my cell phone.I stumbled my finger across it and I reached for it.I set it on text message and clicked Alex.

Alex, since you packed your stuff up yesterday, I was wondering if you could help me with my crap. You know, girl problems.

I clicked 'send'.I continued stuffing my pants into a stern, firm, leather suit case.My phone binged 2 minutes later.

Yea, of course.I know you plan on leaving right after your done, but please stay for the last party.I'll be right up.

I thought about his plead.I gotta, he's my best friend. He still needs to find that girl.I put my phone away and started gathering my makeup.I put it into a sea green, square sized bag. After, I waited for Alex.I heard a knock on my dorm door.I answered knowing it was Alex."Alex to the rescue!" he jokingly shouted.

I laughed, "Alex, I need you to help me load my furniture into the truck." I said.

"Alright, wanna start with the love seat?" asked Alex.

'Sure, that's a good idea." I answered.

We started picking it up."So, what's the answer?" asked Alex, referring to the party.

"I can't talk." I said, gasping for air.

We carried it downstairs, and finally outside to the truck. We then lifted it up."Uh, sure. Why not?" I said catching my breath and trying to be fun for once in a while.

"Awesome, it's at the South Side Dorm room 15.I'll drive you home, if you want." proposed Alex.

There were 4 dorm buildings. Each building had 40 rooms. The South Side Building was for the rich kids, who had dorm rooms that were like suites. The West Side Building was for Upper-Middle kids who had basically a meager kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. The East Side Building was for Lower-Middle class kids and had a bathroom and bedroom, and the North Side Building for for the Lower Class kids and you have a bedroom and a public bathroom on every floor that you had to share with everyone. I live in the West Side Building.

"Oh, thanks. As you know, I'm short on cash.I can't get my car back. So, I'm taking the moving van back home.Since you had your stuff deported back home and your deporting the car tonight, wanna take the moving van with me, instead of taking the train." I say.

"Please let me.My dad told he didn't trust me on the highway with the new truck, so yes.Like I said before, if you ever need a loan..." Alex said before I cut him off.

"Oh, no.I don't borrow money from friends." I said.

"Suit yourself." he said picking up a box.

I had a couple rules for myself, like no borrowing money from friends, no kissing on the first date, ect.I needed these rules to stay organized with myself.Ever since I went to college, I was basically on my own.My mother didn't bother coming down here to Hamptonville for something.

In a half hour, we were done.I pulled out a 20 dollar bill for Alex."Oh, no , I don't take money from friends." he said mocking me.

"Suit yourself." I said mocking him and slidding the bill into my pocket.

"Oh, yeah, I almost forgot to tell you.I was laughing the hardest, ever when you knocked over that speaker." he said laughing.

"Ha, Ha, but atleast I messed up on my last day here." I sharply replied.

"I already told you, Henry planted that magazine in my backpack."

He laughed, leaving me to view his shiny, calm brown eyes."Sure, Alex." I said sarcastically, with Alex's eyes shining like they were light to glass.

Alex sprung into his car, picking up our friends, Stacia, Jane, Henry, and Landon. We were all squished to the maximum because there were six of us in a five-seater car."Guys, who's driving?" Alex asked, pain visible in his diamond eyes.

Alex couldn't stand drunk driving, considering his mother was killed by one."I'll drive back." I volunteered.

I don't drink.I don't do drugs.I will never drink, and I will never do drugs."If there's any drugs there, we're leaving."

I was less uptight on alcohol, obviously.I got a bunch of 'Yeah', 'Sure' and 'Whatever'."I heard Juliet's gonna be there." said Jane talking to me.

I looked back at her, "Jane, I don't care about her.She isn't gonna ruin my last night and first party." I said abruptly.

"I'm just hoping it's not her dorm that the party's in." said Stacia.

"Oh, no, who does the dorm belong to?" I asked, now really worried.

"Chill out, Mercia.Even if it's her's, I'm sure she's not gonna be guarding the door." said Landon reasuring me.

"You're right, screw her." I said exhaling slowly.

"I will." said Henry, boggling his dirty mind.

"See what I mean, Mer?It was him!" he said.

"Of course, I know it was him.The school just didn't know." I said sharply.

Finally we arrived.
