I walked up to the wooden door, I hesitantly grab the handle and open the door. The guy taps me on the shoulder before I could step out. He extends his hands to give me a pistol. in his other hand was pump shotgun along with a bag on his bag. I stare at the gun for a few seconds. "Are you going to take it?"
"Oh y-yeah sure." I excitedly snatch the gun from his hands. A smile creeps onto my face. I always wanted a gun! The smile quickly fades from my face. I don't know how to use one though. He shoves a box of ammo into my chest and steps back. I carefully put the boxes of ammo into my pockets.
"You go first, you got the bat." I look away from the pistol for a second to give him a nod. I step out into the hall. There were no zombies around, it was dead silent. I slowly sneak to the end of the hallway.
"Where do I go now?"
"Turn Right." Before I could turn the corner, the sound of footsteps stopped me. The footsteps got louder and louder as it got closer to the corner.. I carefully put the pistol in the my pocket and raise the bat over my head. The second I saw a glimpse of the zombies I quickly brought down the bat. The blade sliced the zombies head in half. The body lands on its side with a thump. I never thought this makeshift weapon would be so good! It was so easy to kill that zombie. "Can we get moving?"
"Alright, alright hold on." I peek into the hallway. The hallway was empty, no zombies, no bodies, it only had that cart I threw on the floor from earlier. I turn the corner and walk to the end of the hallway. Where are all the zombies? It's way too silent. As I walked past the stairs, I stared intensely at the staircase, I was kind of expecting something to come and attack. Nothing happened when the stairs got out of my sight. Once I reached the end of the hallway I turned left, there was no reason to ask the him; There was only one hallway I could turn to. My eyes quickly widened when the first thing I saw in the hallway was a group of zombies standing still. I quickly backed up.
"What's the problem?"
"A lot of zombies. Do you know another route?"
"We could go downstairs." It's not like we have a choice.
"Yeah, that sounds good." I turn around and walk towards the stairs. I heard a faint cry come from the bottom of the stairs. I hesitantly walk down the stairs, as I reached the bottom of the stairs a ear piercing screech bounced off the walls. Instinctively I brought up my hands to cover my ears, as I covered my ears the bat smacked against my head. I had no choice but to press the bat against my ear. I spun around and ran back up the stairs. The scream got louder and louder as I reached the top of the stairs. When I reached the top I looked over my shoulders. Behind me was a bony zombie sprinting up the stairs. It giggled as it got quickly caught up to me.
On the last step, I tripped. My body fell forward face first. Tears formed as I lifted my head off the ground. I suddenly felt a weak grip on my head, I feel the zombie get on my back. The zombie's head quickly got near my ear before I could knock it off. The zombie let opened its mouth wide open to release a deafening screech. The screech was cut off when the guy kicked the zombie in the head. The zombie tumbled down the staircase and landed on its arm. I scrambled back onto my feet in swiftly.. There was a sharp pain in my ears accompanied by a faint ring in my ears. In the corner of my eye I see the guy run off into the direction of the hallway filled with zombies. I was about to call out to him but I notice hear faint thumps coming up behind me. Without looking back I follow the guy. As I turned the corner the guy brought up his shotgun up and shot one of the zombies. My ears suddenly felt a sharp pain for a second before the pain faded away. The pain was still there, but it wasn't enough to bother me. He quickly aimed his gun at another zombie and shot. The pain in my ear quickly appeared for a second.
