(This is a new version of chapter 16, I didn't like the other so I deleted chapter 16 and 17)

Emily's Point of View

*****

I quickly texted Alyssa saying that her and Cristal shouldn't pick me up today because Matt was going to. That's actually a complete lie. I decided to take the long walked to school because I needed time to think. Now the step bitches know and they'll threaten to tell anyone unless I do what they say and stay away from Matt. I couldn't get into the car with my best friends without them knowing how shitty I felt this morning.

The thing that bothered me the most is that is this my opportunity to tell Matt before everything falls in place. "God life is so messed up." Man I wished I never met Matt. My life was actually okay before Matt so why did it get so damn difficult when he did. I felt a chill go down my spine as I saw my sisters drive pass me. Lindsey smirking from her rear view mirror. I can't go down like this. But maybe, I should probably do what they say, just to be on the safe side.

I got to school in a matter of time and raced to my lockers, grabbing my books for my morning class. I saw Alyssa and Cristal at the end of the hallway. Crystal was wearing a black skirt with white polka dots, a white crop tank with the words LOVE YOU on it with a pair of black over the knee socks, a pair of long grey boots and a thin raspberry colored oversized cardigan. Her medium brown hair was up in a messy bun and her makeup was now natural. She had her backpack slung to her shoulder and duffel bag (with her cheer uniform) on he other hand. Alyssa was standing next to her. Her hair was up in a messy ponytail and her usual makeup which consisted on mascara and eyeliner. She was wearing a pair of navy blue joggers with pockets, a black shark bite tank and a grey sports bra underneath. She had on her jean jacket also and her black vans. Her backpack also slung in her shoulder and she was carrying her books on one arm.

"Emily what the hell?" Cristal said.

"Why did you say Matt was going to pick you up?" Alyssa asked. " We just saw him pull up at the school without you?"

"We're going to be late for class." I said trying to change the topic.

"First through fourth period is cancelled today, faculty meeting." Cristal said. "So spill."

I pulled them away from everyone and went outside. We went by the football field and sat down at the bleachers. I basically told them the tragedy of this morning.

"I can't believe they would threaten you like that." Crystal said.

"I can those bitches are predictable." Alyssa said gritting through her teeth.

"What am I going to do?" I said. "I can't just go up to him and spill all the lies said for the past few months."

"Well now you don't have too." A different voice said from behind me. I turned around along with the other girls to see the guys standing behind us. Matt was at the front of the two. He had his hair down and he had a grey beanie on. He was wearing a grey V Neck tee with black jeans and his grey vans. Cameron was at the left. His hair was the same, he had on an OBEY black hoodie, jeans and his black vans. Nash was was on the right, wearing his XXVI shirt, dark jeans, and converses. Matt and Cameron looked heartbroken and Nash looked uncomfortable.

"Matt." I breathed out. I went up to him. "I'm so sorry that you had to find out this way."

"Save it Emily, you're not the girl I thought you were." Matt said turning his heels and stomping away angrily past Nash and Cameron. I was literally bawling my eyes now. Did I just loose Matt? Maybe forever....

"How did you guys find us?" Alyssa said next to me. Her eyes not meeting with Cameron's desperate ones.

"We followed you out here." Nash said quietly. "We thought you guys would want to hang out and grab breakfast but they overheard."

"They..." Cameron said. "You knew?" Still in disbelief.

"When Matt showed me Emily's locket I just put two and two together well more like three." Nash said looking at us. Cristal went to Nash's side and squeezed his hand. (Silently thanking him for everything he did for us). Cameron looked at Alyssa but she didn't look back. He didn't even looked mad anymore, his face showed just hurt. Without hesitation Alyssa just ran away.

"Alyssa!" Cameron said as he ran after her but I was too busy thinking about Matt and how sick I felt.

"Come on Emy." Nash said. "I'll treat you two to some breakfast at Abby's." (a/n: Abby's is a name of a diner I made up." I nodded as Nash took Cristal's hand and we walked away.

Alyssa's Point of View

I just ran. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know what to think. All I can here is Cameron shouting my name from behind but all I wanted was for him to leave me alone. From what happened over there, I didn't know if he was mad and heartbroken like Matt or confused and sympathetic like Nash. I really just don't want to deal with him now. I then ran to my favorite place in the neighborhood, the beach. It was not crowded considering it was a school day. I was already there when I felt someone grabbed my wrist.

"Let me go Cameron." I said. He didn't say anything just kept a gentle but firm grip on me. I was now pissed. Why isn't he mad at me?

"Why won't you yell at me?" I asked him.

"I'm not mad.." He told me. I wasn't so emotional like Cristal and Emily. I remained as I was. I stopped struggling and finally looked at him in the eyes.

"You should be." I said.

"I understood why you did it for Emily." Cameron said. I nodded but that's not the whole truth.

"Alyssa." Cameron said looking at me sincerely. "You kept it a secret because you were afraid also." "I know that now. You're scared of how everything will end up. I get that."

"It's not just that Cam." I said. "You and me we've known each other since forever, we are constantly either at each others throats or back to being idiotic friends. The fact that I actually had feelings for you scared me." I dropped my head from his gaze and looked at the waters. "I liked what we had before but I want more from it also. I don't want anything to change between us."

"Who says anything will change. You and me that's the only thing that mattered since the beginning." Cameron said. I was still unconvinced I never been in a relationship before like Emily because I was too scared for the feeling of love in the first place. My mom died because she tried to get my cheating father back but she died from a car crash as she chased him. He disowned me as his daughter and my mom's sister who's divorced also raised me. My family never had luck at luck and I don't want to end up like my parents or my aunt.

"Alyssa, don't push me away." Cameron said. "I love you."

"What?" I gasped and finally looked up at him. He nodded and the next thing I knew his lips crashed against mine.

I deleted the two chapters (16&17) and me and my friend rewrote Chapter 16 because I didn't like the other one, hopefully you guys aren't mad or anything, I really like this version better though.
