It's been a couple of weeks since addy's episode. She ended up getting a bit of a chest infection and had to go back to hospital for a couple days. Once she was out Carl didn't want to let his baby sister out of his sight but was kinda hard when Lori was always hovering and controlling him. Lori and rick haven't really been talking much. Lori keeps trying start a fight but rick refuses to start an argument with the kids in the house. Rick has also been sleeping in addy's room.

rick has been getting more and more worried about Lori's behaviour to the kids. With Carl he noticed she is clinging to him and being a bit controlling. And with addy he's noticed almost like jealousy coming from Lori. She's been neglecting her and it's breaking his heart to see.

Rick is sitting at his desk finishing up some paperwork before he heads home. He's thinking about the phone call he had a bit earlier from Lori. It was nothing but her yelling and complaining. Nothing she said even made sense. She started throwing around divorce. That actually scared him. He knows there relationship isn't doing well but if they got a divorce, he worries about his kids, with his long hours he won't get custody. When Lori is angry she can be spiteful too.

He sighed knowing he had to go home. He just hopped he could spend time with the kids and not have a fight when he got home. He looked around and couldn't see Shane anywhere so he figured he had already left for the night. He packs up and heads out.

...

He pulls up and see's Shane's car in the drive way. He must be over for dinner. He gets out and walks up to the door. He can hear the tv on as he opens the door. He calls out not to loudly thinking the kids are already in bed "Lori....I'm home. I see Shane's here. Where you at man?" He put his stuff down and walks in before jumping as Carl pops his head up from the couch. "Hey dad" Carl says smiling.

Rick walks over and hugs him over the couch. He looks down and see's addy is still on the couch too. He sighs. "Give me a couple minutes and I'll be back to watch some tv with you. I just want to put addy to bed." Carl nods and leans over kissing addy's cheek before rick picks her up. He starts to make his way down the hall when he hears the toilet flush and shane walks out.

"Hey man, you know where Lori is? She should have put addy to bed already." Shane looks down at addy fast asleep in ricks arms. "Ahh.... Yeah, she was lying down for a bit. I said I would watch the kids for a bit. I didn't realise it was past her bed time. Sorry man" rick nods "haha all good man. Head down with Carl. I'll be there in a bit." Shane pats his shoulder and goes down the hall.

Rick walks into addy's room and gets her changed some how managing to not wake her. He kisses her cheek and lays her down. She's still out like a light. He stands there looking at her for a few moments. He makes sure her sloth is at her side before leaving her room and heading down the hall.

When he gets there he see's Lori is up and looks she wasn't even sleeping. He grabs the monitor from the side table and brings it over to the coffee table before sitting down next to Carl. "Hey bud. How was school?" Carl leans against him "good, we have summer break coming up so they aren't giving us any more homework for now. I also got to spend time with addy. She finally said my name properly today. She was so excited." Carl says talking animatedly.

Rick smiles at him, proud of both his kids. Shane looks at his watch and gets up. "Well I best be off. We have an earlier shift tomorrow so I'll see you in the morning. Night all." He waves and they all say goodNight to him. Rick is to busy talking to Carl to see the looks between Lori and Shane.

"Well I think it's way past your bed time mr" Lori says and she starts to usher Carl up to bed. She takes one look back at rick before going down the hall. Rick watch's her leave. He sighs. He gets back up and looks around, wondering how they got to this point where they couldn't even have a normal conversation. Maybe she was right. Maybe it is time to think about getting a divorce. This isn't healthy for them or the kids.
